Nobody has the right to routinely bother somebody for something that doesn't belong to them. They aren't the government, they're a private company. They're making a product that's supposed to be fun but as of yet isn't for sale.

I think we do have the right to ask for it, especially when it took 13+ years of everyone's lives away waiting for it. I just want what they promised us. A full-blown trailer. Nothing more, nothing less. As a matter of fact, I honestly don't want to see much media, I just want what they promised to give us. And I'm sure they will deliver. I just stated what will happen if they don't, and that's why I'm confident media is coming!

In reality it took nothing of your life, it will be done when it will be done. There is no clausality between your life and 3D Realms, that's a false assumption.

Also, if you truly are a great Duke fan as you claim, you would act like it. Same with rockmx8, one second the biggest sunshine, and after that turns on what he once respected. It doesn't work that way.

The game will take what ever time it takes, there is nothing we can do to speed that process up. It will be out sooner or later, and I am guessing we have moved to the sooner phase already.

Yes, it took much of my life. I've been turning on my computer and going to 3DR.com day after day ever since I first discovered that DNF was being made. And when this website was created, I came here as well, looking for any news or anything. Yeah, you could say a lot of my life has been spent waiting for DNF, but I'm not going to complain about it. I know this game is going to kick major ass! Eh, I'm not really as upset as I sounded in the posts above. I just had to blow off some steam and submit my rant to this thread.

Yeah, we're in the sooner phase definitely. We'll get something soon enough.

They don't necessarily have to be at work to release something like that. Well, if they are planning to release something, I'm sure they've made arrangements for it.

Especially not if it's a message by Joe, he's to be respected, even if he's neither admin or moderator here... He occationally pops over at these boards and reads them too (not very often at all, but it's not to be excluded though)...

Duke4.net is supposed to be much less strict on the rules with all the DNF discussions and all, than on 3DR, but please be thoughtful with what's posted here anyhow...

About Joe saying not to mention that date people keep posting about, it doesn't necessarily mean anything at all. If someone makes up some fake date, he'd going to tell people not to post about it in hopes that everyone doesn't start thinking its some official date and get tricked.

Also if anyone wasted their lives "waiting" for DNF, thats their problem and nobody elses.

Agreed. 3DR still have time to redeem themselves. Not much time but surely they aren't that far out of the loop with the gaming community.

Perhaps. But IIRC, they usually take off the last couple of weeks of the year. So it would seem if they were going to do something big, they probably would have done it already.

I can't think of any reasons they couldn't upload media away from the office.

Anyways...my heart is also telling me that they have plenty of neat stuff they could show off/share with us at this point in time so my brain doesn't process getting coal.

If they don't release anything this year the development goes from ridiculus to onforgivable. George is a great guy, but he is not capable of managing the team and not qualified enough to work towards a common goal. You can notice all over the web that 3D Realms is losing any respect that they had in the last years, also the development of DNF is getting less attention by the week.

Even if DNF is ever going to be released the long development time will always be mentioned first. No game, even if it is the best game ever could justify this development time.

And yes, I will be first in line to buy it

Forget it We wount see anything substantial this year for sure. Joe told quite clearly that he dont know of anything being prepared for us. Besides, Its 17th of december already. I think they would have let us know, if something would be coming. They wount just say "oh btw, we released a trailer yesterday..." There would be some "hype" before "hype" if you know what i mean

Our best bet is some screenshot, thats pretty much all we can hope for at this point.

And to be honest, i kinda dont care anymore about playing DNF. I have a lot of other things in my life going on and i dont play games anymore.

But its just interesting to follow that "DNF saga" its like a thriller movie...

I think the constant posting of blurry pictures and the actual game not being anything out of this world from what we could see so far, it's making it less and less important, even for the fans.

Now, me and probably everyone else, reached the point where pictures no longer cut it, a trailer is the next step. Anything less than that is just a flat out insult.

I never expect or assume anything at any time unless somebody official from someplace says to expect it.

On the other hand I am a bit curious, but I'd probably not let my curiosity wane until after New Years honestly.

I however would be a little surprised if there wasn't any kind of 3DR news page update regarding the holidays and stuff. Like something to would clue us in more that something isn't coming.

For the most part, most of you people are acting like shitty spoiled assholes that breastfed until you were 3 years old, and beg\yell at your parents to open Christmas presents 2 weeks early. Its going to really kind of kill the fun of even seeing anything finally. At this point I kinda wish they would just wait until February or something cause I'd rather wait than see whiny people get their way.

Absolutely they can give the media to the game media reporting companies like Shacknews one day before Christmas. Or on the same day they can do it right from their own homes, it won't be much to do on the forums except manage the wild crowd like last year.

Your words would be (have been?) true in 2003-2006. But since 2007 they've been teasing people with some screens/footage and phrases like "stay tuned", "media is coming". So, it's logical that those people, whom were teased, are disturbed by that. Right now, I wish there wasn't any teaser, or screens, or footage.
