I had this moment when the DNF screenshots were released (you know the ones) where I got excited, very excited. I began to analyze, compare, giggle like a school girl, etc. Than in a split second my mood changed... it altered into something else... I felt empty.

I sat and stared at a picture of an Octabrain and I thought this is it? This is what’s getting me excited? A simple screenshot... I felt frustrated more than ever because I craved more for I felt like I deserved more after all this time. It was the day, THE DAY, when I finally died a little inside and stopped caring so much. Every day I'd go onto the forums and take a peek into the DNF section just to see if maybe, just maybe someone found something new, or maybe there was a topic we somehow all missed and someone finally brought it up... but no... by the time the initial joy of seeing those screens dispersed I realized it wasn't enough to keep me going.

Now, I'm not saying I've given up on the game or that 3D Realms will deliver something solid just that I've given up on waiting. I've given up the hunt for new information... how I will miss the hunt... I used to spend hours on google searching... hoping to find some golden nugget of information.

So while I still am very active on the forums moderating or reading I rarely venture into the DNF section except for when I really have to since there just isn't anything new there anymore.

So I sit and wish that I'll get a trailer, something more substantial to get my heart pumping again. Maybe get George talking again... maybe something...

I feel a little bit as you Nacho. I'm feeling right now a big black hole. I had this mood months ago after the Jace Hall Footage. Its an up and down.
George said DNF media soon, did he really meant those 2 screenshots? If yes this is a letdown. As some of you I now only will be satiesfied with a full blown trailer. I realy hope they get it out to us earlier than christmas.
George also said they're currently thinkig about things, this can't take so long can't it.

I don't wait for new media, I am glad when I see something new, but I don't wait for it. Since essentially that would make me really frustraded and bored very very quickly.

3D Realms are very tight lipped, but they should really really think about what they say of DNF when they say. Since a lot of those have lead to misunderstandings in the fanbase. I doubt they really wan't to f*ck with the fanbase in giving false positives in their words.

If you are tight lipped, and decide to say something, it better be thought out and clear - for everyone.

That said, I hope we will see DNF this year - much media, not just few screenshots.

Don't know why, it looks to me George sounds as "Yeah whatever, just STFU" every time he is promising media about DNF, as if he was trying to get rid of the demmands of the fans or trying to make them happy before disappointing them with boredom and no DNF media at all

Yeah the year is almost over. His statement about likely showing some stuff is starting to sound a lot like his statements about the game coming out in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001. And he'll of course give the excuse that they HAVE shown stuff, but personally I don't think "treats" like 2 low-res hidden shots and a bunch of thumbnails should count.

Resist the urge for screenshots biweekly... ha. Even bimonthly would be nice just about now.

Yatta, the problem with your claim that he said that in 2007 and the DID show the game that year. He never said they where very likely to show it this year.

Scott said some time ago that the game should be finished by the end of this year or 2 months later in 2009 (he said that in a interview in a newspaper, I think), it's strange that there is no sign at the moment that something is coming.

We have not seen anything after the teaser, the thumbnails have nothing to do with releasing media, the Jace Hall show is a incident that had some footage of DNF but has nothing to do with showing the game. The 2 screenshots is a Duke3D thingy to give some attention for Duke3D XBLA.

Face it people, there is nothing "official" released after the teaser (and the teaser was in the first place some showing / joke for the 3DRealms Christmas party.

Now I think of it, there is nothing released since 2001

Or maybe they are waiting a little more for Duke 3D to get some more attention, so I'd say November or December would be the top 2 Months where we will see the next DNF Trailer most likely by the end of this year. Wait a second the last Teaser Trailer came out in December, so I'd say before Christmas would be the best bet for a Trailer!!

I sure hope to God they show it before or around December, because I'm pissed off everytime I see no DNF Media news as it's supposed to come more frequently now.

I Don't know, but I think Duke Nukem Forever is not released because Chuck Norris doesn't want it to. Otherwise it's starting to be a bit annoying, I'm tired of dreaming I get to play DNF and once I've woken up I realize it was all a dream and it's all gone, geez.

It's just easier to not really care about it. I'm sure I'm a guaranteed buy, but there's plenty of things to do or games to play in the mean time.

Pulling dates out of asses or "gut feelings" for posting is lame to me but given the recent stuff they've shown and the info that has come out it does seem like we'll see the game within the next year.

Duke Nukem Forever will be released pretty soon since we have been treated with more media then we have for a long time and George Broussards statement that theres 6 hours of game playable atm.

I know everyone has heard the same shit for the past 12 years but im convinced its going to come out late this year or early to mid next year.
