Seriously, I think the revenue from Duke3D still comes in and the release on XBLA certainly helps. . .

Hell, sometimes I don't like some of the comments made here, but I don't complain about them. I just keep my mouth shut, go about my business and no conflicts are made.

Precisely well said I agree dude!!

Either you did, or you lie. It's either of those two, if you lie it only confirms that you are indeed a troll. BUT if you are correct, then I just want to ask: how did you get to see DNF? Answering that wouldn't brake any NDAs.

How could that be trolling? Even if we did make it up, we didn't do it to make anyone angry. Gotta have a joke around here every once in a while to keep things from getting boring. Besides, how many times has George said DNF will be released tomorrow? George is obviously quite the troll, too.

You know, one characteristic of a troll is someone who deliberately and repeatedly posts completely off topic in a thread.
Rant thread. Rant thread. Rant thread.
Get it?

The Wow expansion: The Wrath of the Litch King was released yesterday, and George wants to create a new character starting from 0.
http://www.shacknews...n.x?id=18450636
So, there we have a new one year delay for DNF.
I'm having my doubts this game will ever get to see the light, and if it does it will be a very bad game.
This is starting to get frustrating, 3DRealms hasn't learnt ANYTHING over the years on how not to screw things in developing games.

WOW

Now I think George and Scott talking in the jace hall interview about WoW as one reason for the delay was true.

But how does it effect the progress of DNF if George is playing WoW at work? Or does he only plays at home in his freetime?!

I agree. Every time there was a restart or major delay, there was hope that they'd learn from it, but I guess not, as they keep repeating the process.

I hope the game doesnt get scrapped again.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE SURE IT ISNT SCRAPPED AGAIN!

Optimism is for any other thread, this place is for ranting, and ranting only... We don't need anyone to convert any naysayers or whatever happens in here, that's all their bussiness, and why we let them blow off steam here without any risk of being banned at all...
...So, please let them...

the game. If Scott Miller's "prediction" of the team being done with the game by the end of the year was accurate(or perhaps missing the mark by a few months) then the game should be in good enough shape to show off in terms of starting the media hype.
If we go into the new year without a peep from 3dr regarding the game(especially the 1st quarter with nothing), I'd suspect the dreaded "restart" or "retooling" phase has reared it's ugly head again.
And then I'll go a step further. A trailer still won't convince many people who've been down that road before. I propose 3dr back the trailer up with a solid "hard" release date.
Pretty much end the trailer with ON STORE SHELVES JULY 4TH, 2009 for example.
While that *still* wouldn't convince some, I think it would show they mean business this time and will back up the game's release date, show confidence in it and that they can meet the date(or even beat it.)
They should have a ton of material in a highly polished state where they can bang out a pretty neat trailer for us at this point. No more excuses, restarts, retools, mass departures, mass hirings, etc, etc. I don't think we want to hear about that anymore. I don't. I just want to see the game in motion. In "substantial" form.
I'm pretty sure it's ready George. We're ready. Let's do this.

pretty much my thoughts!
Now its THE time to do it. Next year is too late and I guess all the fans would turn against 3DR.

I'm really getting beyond upset at them and just pathetically disappointed.
