That might be because Dave has been giving out review codes to various key people over the last few days/week.

Just been reading the first few pages of this thread, it's golden. We gave these guys such a hard time, the award goes to Deviance though.

That option clearly deals with the sound that the shadows make in the game when they rub against the environment.
Actually that option might have something to do with how sounds might be cached or compressed in the game I think.
I like the advanced options menu, I think it has quite a few selectable features there that should be present in all pc games.
Update:
It's bounds not sounds, I'm blind apparently but at least Mikko C also saw it like that...
Now that it's been determined that it's bounds instead of sounds, I can no longer understand why DaveyDoomsday wrote "dafuq" next to that option?
It's pretty easy to realize that option deals with the enabling or disabling of a shadow drawing optimization...

I wasn't complaining, I just made a stupid joke because I was as fucking puzzled as everybody that read sounds instead of bounds because such an option obviously doesn't exist..
Mikko C also saw it sounds instead of bounds...
That font is all caps and shows all the letter curves as sharp edges... Not the most readable of fonts out there when you don't even zoom the pic and you are reading technical options.
Either way, I was blind so it's my bad.

Everything on lights with Unreal.

I still have no idea what the setting is supposed to do.

"This entry illustrates one way compute conservative shadow bounds for improved stenciled shadow volume performance. It computes a 3D screen space rectangle that can be used to scissor and depth_bounds_test away updates to pixels that the light will not affect."

In the end a descriptive text field that explains what this does would have helped. You hover the mouse over the setting in the launcher and it explains what the heck this setting means. Like in the nVidia control panel for example.

Yeah, Because it looks like take long time to download the whole game... if we can pre-load the game it would be awesome(at least on Steam...)!

Asked Valve about it. Waiting to hear back. My guess is probably not. Apparently it's a bigger pain in the ass than you'd think. WHAT ELSE IS NEW?!

Just in case some of you wondered: The guys had gore effects disabled for that video session to make it available for a younger (German) audience. It's normally a lot more brutal, of course.
In general, they say something about the game speed, which is quite high, more like Serious Sam, with rocket jumps and fast kills. Referring to the story of the game, they say it's intentionally ridiculous (they compare it to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon). Weapon design is similar to the original title, WW2 style, and the levels feature some small puzzles sometimes. Also worth noticing are the secret areas, a detail which many shooters sadly ignore these days.
They have fun with the God mode at 2:30 which is rather unusual in modern games, as it is a cheat available as a regular ingame powerup.

At the end of the video, they summarize that with ROTT HD, you get a full game for the price of a Call of Duty map pack, featuring full-on MP. "If you are looking for anything which is getting close to Quake in any way - it's probably not going to get any better than this." They are also showing respect for the dev team which consists of just 30 people who had worked on the title for about one year at their homes.

I'm still pretty anxious about the checkpoint system. Just because the developers think it's a good idea to have checkpoints at certain points doesn't mean it won't be more fun/practical to have them more often or at other positions. Manual saving is still 10x better. And if they mess up something relatively straightforward like saving, then there might have been other areas where they compromise towards modern gameplay as well.
So the game might be cool, but let's not forget that Interceptor has never made a game before and are basically a glorified mod team at this point. Let's hope they patch in manual saves post-release.
