I bet the weapon designer woke up one day and said..."You know what this gun needs?.... It needs some googly eyes."

The only problem is that the edges are too hard, would give a lousy normal bake ;)

A lot of Photoshopping would fix it.

Yeah, that's the gun the triad enforcer used in the original game IIRC.

Our enforcers have MG42's that look a lot like that. Let me see if I can find the high poly for you to stare at.

And speaking of the Eyexcalibat, the idle animation actually has the player try to poke it in the eye, it's adorable. BELIEVE IN THE EYE.

Hey Dave, out of curiosity, how big of a download would we be looking at from steam and gog when the game is released? You may have already answered this before, but I thought I'd ask just in case you hadn't. ;)

Can we see the high poly of the excalibat? even though I hate the idea of the eye, I think its an awesome model. the high poly would be interesting, also was it made in zbrush or mudbox?

I'll ask Fred and the artists if we can show Nick's high poly of the bat here. Also, you're probably looking at around 5GB for the install. The friggin Steam "coming soon" page should be up already (WITH THE NEW BOX ART) but Valve is draggin'. WHAT ELSE IS NEW.

j/k loveu valve please don't make us put future games on greenlight <3

Really looking forward to seeing some gameplay, and dare I say, a release date. Also, congrats on being content complete! How's the polishing going?

Working on our next dev diary now which is all about the music. It's our longest yet. All new SP gameplay (we're only showing SP from here on out) and lots of new music. Gonna put it out with a new dev blog and podcast HOPEFULLY this week if not next. The OST is also now complete at 25 tracks and 70 minutes. It's nuts.

The polishing is going. We only have so many coders, scripters, set dressers etc so everyone has a lot of small individual things to work on. It's cool that the game is just a thing you can boot up and play from start to finish now. Kind of crazy it's only been a little over a year since we started. Only a few months to go! Woo!

Don't all games on GOG have to work on XP, Vista and Windows 7/8?

I guess as they're expanding their catalogue, they need to loosen the restrictions too. GOG hasn't been an (only) old games site for ages. IMO I don't see anything wrong with that, as long as they always keep the rule that their games are DLC free. If they stop that, then the service basically loses what makes it unique and there wouldn't be any real reason to buy from there.

You mean DRM free right? As they have already released games with DLC.

DLC Free or DRM Free?

Because as far as I heard Fred say on a livestream long ago, DLCs would be free but if it did well enough they might do a paid addon. No idea if that idea itself has changed or not.

Ah sorry DRM free. It's a bit late here. I'm off to bed.

Why does it require Vista/7 despite being DX9-only?

GOG is not old games only anymore. They've admitted as such in a press release. They are now known as GOG rather than the actual acronym "Good Old Games". They've got quite a few new games on there along with a ton of indie games.

I'd be behind them getting more new games as well as expanding their cross platform offerings. I did choose to get Alan Wake from them rather than purchase it via Steam for example. On the other hand.. by the time Alan Wake was released on the PC and thusly GOG it's already considered old and yesterday's news by some.
