Interceptor Entertainment is doing a Rise Of The Triad remake.

#801

I'd assume so, but since it is a pack it probably inlcudes some other things as well?

Lee Jackson sounds sort of like Jack Nicholson with a bit of a southern accent.

Haha.. What the hell Dave! :) Sneaky Bastard.
The menu scenes are not final yet though.
I still have to polish a few things here and there before they are completely done.
But I hope you guys will like it!

It's basically a weapon showcase in one of our environments, showing the weapons and their details upclose.

Yeah :D We decided to implement a small Music Player, where you can listen to all of the tracks in the game, in the main menu.

That's actually pretty sweet, there is a dedicated menu tune though right?

Yup :)
The Menu tune is "Rise", just like in the old days.
When you progress in the Menu to the Overworld, the tune changes to "Mmm-menu" :D

We have a new RC like every other day, it's the beauty of virtual teams and digital distribution.

Yup - We have an Online Mode (completely optional, and not required), where you can share your Level Scores with others, watch level leaderboards, chat with other players about levels, tactics, secrets etc.
Our own little "Battle.net" :)

While I'm not a fan, but shouldn't this whole community thing be handled by Steam? It is somewhat surprising for a small developer to bother with such features on their own.

We want to give all customers the same experience. By having community features in the Steam version, and not having any of those features in the GOG version, you give more value to the steam version.
And thats not fair to people who want to get the game on GOG, and other Digital Stores.

So we decided to make our own backend built into ROTT, so all gamers get the same experience.
This means that Steam players, will be able to play multiplayer against Non-Steam players, you will all be able to see the same leaderboards, chat with each other, set up games, compare scores etc. no matter where you bought the game from.

Fair enough, but Steam having its own in-game community features is certainly an advantage over those services/shops that don't, which is why it is easy to just use them. But if you can handle these features adequately then that's not an issue.

FRED SPEAKETH THE TRUTH.

With a game like ours you want as big of a community playing the same game on day one as possible. By opening our multiplayer up to ANYONE who buys the game ANYWHERE we're giving ourselves the best chance to do that. I was skeptical at first, but I think in the end it makes the most sense given our DRM free, consumer focused approach to developing games.

Also, if you play on Steam you still get the Steam overlay and Steam achievements and Steam Community Hub and STEAM TRADING CARDS!!!!1

I understand, but I was speaking not about multiplayer itself, but community features. Of course MP should be included in every version of a game.

Good news, everyone, they've finally announced the release date over on their facebook page:

Quote

SOON.<br style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;"><br style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">VERY. VERY. SOON.

I just love how specific they are.

If the actual release date or indeed the game itself isn't released tomorrow then soon officially loses all meaning with these guys.
