Yeah, I agree. Although the Monk in the background is pretty cool.

Recreation of the original box art? It's not bad. A little smooth. Over-airbrushed? Is that a term? I prefer the original artwork but this is great too. Gotta give props for the consistency to authenticity. And sorry for the derailing.

Anything with an RSAC Advisory gets an upvote.

Remind me what the point was again of the ESRB existing if the RSAC was already in place?

Because there was a favor of age-based categorization of content.

RSAC was just descriptors with levels, and was even more accurate than ESRB with them (Quake had an RSAC for Profanity just for "get to the asshole personally" in the manual), whereas ESRB just mentions "animated blood and gore animated violence" just for every violent thing regardless of anything else, even if it's boobs (*cough*SiN*cough*Sacrifice*cough*Wizardry 8*cough*RTCW*cough*) though the Hot Coffee fiasco made the ESRB think twice for having accurate descriptors and proceeded for RSAC-level accuracy (finally, though since the T-rated gorefest that is Warframe I think they're slipping again.)

RSAC tried to take this idea on the internet with RSACi, though only Internet Explorer 3+ and a few websites supported it.

The best part is that since we're PC only and digital we don't need to be rated by anyone!

PORN AND VIOLENCE FOR ALL!

Ask your parents for permission before playing ROTT 2013.

We're all pretty much as old or older than you are on this forum. Yo do know that right?

All the little kids that are giving thumbs down for this post are just making me more happy to realize how many frustrated little kids are around here ;)

I would like to see Full Controller Support aka Xbox 360 controller support on ROTT 2013. Will it be included?

Controller support is confirmed.

Forgot to ask more questions a/b the control support. 1: Rumble Feature? 2: Applies to all versions Steam, GOG.com and forgot the other one? Planning to get the GOG.com version.

I didn't mean to actually ask YOUR parents. I was mimicking the ever popular tagline from TV commercials for children's products.

I mean, you could still ask your parents if you wanted to. Nothing against your parents. I'm sure they are lovely people.

Also, yes - controller support. UE3 works natively with XB360 controllers and all that fun stuff.

For those of you who don't know (most of you probably do). ROTT has a steam page up so it can now go on wishlists. No pre-order at the moment it seems.

I'd rather they first get PC version out then deal with consoles' porting, certification and other crap.

They would need to playtest it a lot with the speed slowed down for consoles. Look even UT3, which is much slower than this, had to slowed down for consoles by 20%, so that people can enjoy it. Then it needed further adjustment because the advanced movement didn't work with controllers (so they had auto-dodging instead of the player deciding when to dodge).

I'd rather have a proper game for a proper platform first and then have it ported to a secondary platform which isn't suited as well for this type of game anyways.

If we make any money from ROTT we're likely gonna do a Mac port first. You know how Fred loves his Macs. Maybe linux. Maybe iOS, Maybe Tegra (dat Nvidia money) consoles would be great. But it's expensive, and ain't nobody got time or money fo dat. We're focused on one version right now. DO NOT DISTURB THE FREDERIK.

I'll be sure to chip in to make that Mac port happen.

Speaking of "if we make any money from ROTT" had you guys ever considered a kickstarter?

Just try stopping me. I'm going to do the damn hell as I please including purchasing the PC version so they have enough to do further ports like to Mac and Linux.

We talked about Kickstarter a million times. Apogee and the guys almost had me convinced at one point - but we decided to do this the old fashioned way by pulling up our bootstraps and emptying our bank accounts.

First of all, on top of everything else we're doing - trying to run a successful Kickstarter campaign sounded like an enormous pain in the ass. Something we simply didn't have the time or resources for - especially with me being tasked with all of the marketing by myself.

Secondly, I personally don't think we've earned the right to ask for hand outs from the gaming community. I think that if we prove ourselves with ROTT, the sky's the limit! Veteran devs like InXile and Double Fine have every right to do these big budget Kickstarters. They have long time fans and back catalogs of quality games as proof that they will deliver. I don't think we've earned the right to fund raise next to guys like that and quite frankly I'm a little put off by other indie developers who do. Even more so by certain "veteran" developers who think they can raise millions of dollars based on fans who liked games they made decades ago. Sure, anyone can donate to anything - it's a free country. But I've never been in the business of asking for handouts and certainly wasn't going to take that route with ROTT. I'd rather sell my house than ask for a hand out. In fact, I AM SELLING MY HOUSE.

Plus, when it comes to Kickstarter - unless you're Tim Schafer or Brian Fargo - you really only get ONE shot and ONE Kickstarter. So why waste our opportunity with our first game? If ROTT does well, we can take a step back, pay our guys what they deserve to be paid, and then perhaps re-assess our situation and potentially do a Kickstarter for our next project or even a ROTT expansion pack.

I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I want more than anything for Interceptor to prove that we can do this on our own. Because if we do that and we succeed, it will be all the more worthwhile.

So yeah. No Kickstarter. At least not yet

I respect your no-Kickstarter approach. It definitely shows humility and speaks of your company's character.

Well, either way I want the Mac version to happen (and I don't begrudge linux having it either). So I'm going to buy it so you guys get "enough" money to make that happen. Which is by the way an entirely different thing to a kickstarter.

I really like the UI. The game looks great. It's come a long way since Quakecon 2012.
