Tank Girl (1995), based on some comic book I had never even heard of (but had seen images of without knowing where they were from). I only watched it because it had Naomi Watts, who was an unknown back then (but still good!). Watts wasted ten years appearing in irrelevant films until David Lynch gave her her big break with Mulholland Drive. Anyway, the film wasn't really downright bad but it was pretty stupid. It had these serious themes and scenes but they were delivered in such a comical fashion that it rendered them completely ineffective for no justifiable reason.

Children of the Corn IV, another early Naomi Watts movie. For a B-movie it was pretty entertaining (definitely not the least bit scary) and has a runtime below 1,5 hours. Watts was very good; in fact, the whole cast was pretty good.

Saw Orphan, quite liked it. I didn't think I would, but I slowly got into it/ Also, HUGE Clive Barker fan so the Hellraiser films are favourites of mine. Obviously the general quality starts dropping quite severely past III, but they're better 'bad' movies than most others. Also, can't wait for the official edition of the Cabal Cut of Nightbreed that Clive's been posting a screening announcement of on Facebook, hopefully it'll get an official release soon.

I haven't really watched much other than the Hannibal TV series. Not exactly what I expected, but it hasn't let me down too much either. The cerebral nature of Thomas Harris is there, and that matters more than almost anything else.

Hellraiser Hellseeker was praised for the return of the actress Ashley Laurence as "Kirsty Cotton" of the old stuff.
The woman who was tormented by pinhead and these people with no skin.

She was in Hellraiser 1 and 2. Also and 3 as a cameo

The Abyss (the long version). I actually hadn't seen it before, except for bits and pieces when I was a kid. (The underwater theme always bothered me a bit.) It was okay, maybe worth three and a half stars, but not a classic like Aliens or Terminator. Moreover, some of the naivety that was so pervasive in Avatar (but largely missing from Cameron's earlier works) is clearly visible in The Abyss. They also hired the wrong guy to compose the soundtrack: Silvestri seemed to recycle a lot of his stuff from Predator.

Riddick. Pretty good, somewhere between Pitch Black and Chronicles. I'd have cut 10-15 minutes out of it.

I need to check that one out then, even though all of them are kind of sub-par.

Looks like you've been watching a lot of classic movies anyway (not talking about the House series here, haha), good stuff.

That one is closer to the original story than almost any other movie based on Philip K. Dick. I'd really like to see The Electric Ant done by David Cronenberg or Tim Burton one day.

The entirety of Star Trek The Original Series + all the movies based on it. Prior to that the only Star Trek I had seen was 1/3 to 1/2 or so of The Next Generation plus the 2 modern movies.
