Suspicious Behavior?  "Where can I get the latest Eduke32?"

#1

I am currently using Eduke32 build 2195, and I am having problems with animation cycling. Sprites don't animate smoothly from the last frame back to the first. Instead, they pause at the last frame for its duration and snap back to the first frame. (The animations play smoothly in Mapster, but not in Eduke.)

I thought I would try the latest build to see if the problem had been fixed, and I followed the link from the "Please Read This Before Posting Bugs. " topic. However, when I tried to run build 2442, my anti-virus blocked and deleted it for suspicious behavior.

Anyway, I was wondering if the animation problem has been solved in later versions and if there is a place I can download a newer, but less "suspicous" build.

IIRC EDuke32 has a version checker that is deemed suspicious by some anti-virus software. Assuming you downloaded it from a trusted source (such as http://dukeworld.duk...ke32/synthesis/), then it is perfectly safe.

Plagman recently fixed an animation issue that affected models in Polymer which was very much like what you described. The issue did not affect 8-bit art or other renderers.

Upgrading to 2486 solved the animation problem. It was just a matter of winning an argument with my anti-virus software.

Thanks alot!
