Hello all, I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and trying to setup Duke Nukem using EDuke32.
I have installed eduke32 via Synaptic. Then I went to the eduke32 website and followed the Ubuntu link to purchase a full, registered version of Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition. I didn't notice it unfortunately but this link was a .exe windows file, I'm running Ubuntu 10.04.
I can run eduke32 and play the demo, but have no idea what to do with this .exe file now. This seems to be the entirety of "installation instructions".
Copy the contents of the DN3DINST or ATOMINST directory (especially DUKE3D.GRP and DUKE.RTS) off of your Duke Nukem 3D or Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition CD to a directory of your choosing on your hard disk.
Download the latest version of EDuke32 (currently a development snapshot; try a nightly build for the latest improvements) and extract it to the directory you created in step 1.
Run EDuke32! Running eduke32.exe will allow you to play the game, and mapster32.exe lets you create custom maps.
I don't know what the above referenced files are or where to get them. The game download was only $6 bucks so I'm not freaking out or anything, It was half my fault for not seeing it was not for Ubuntu, but I'd love to get it working.. Didn't realize how much I loved this game.
Thanks for any help, cheers.
