Legend of the Beast DLC pack for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter (PC): 3 new campaign missions, 3 new survival maps, 3 new versus maps AND free-to-play-FOREVER versus and survival multiplayer - all coming on May 15th on Steam!
Croteam and Devolver Digital have announced that fresh downloadable content for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter will hit the ol’ personal computer on May 15th. Grab a fistful of rockets and step into the blood-soaked shoes of Sam “Serious” Stone as he tracks down the mysterious ram-god of The Great Obelisk in an all-new chapter of the legendary series. The ‘Legend of the Beast’ DLC pack will cost a paltry US$4.99 and includes:
Three New Campaign Missions
Three New Brutal Survival Mode Maps
Three New Chaotic Versus Mode Maps
“Our team is very excited to extend the world of the classic Serious Sam: The Second Encounter and we think the fans will really enjoy the news areas and scenarios we’ve put into Legend of the Beast,” said Davor Hunski, Chief Creative Guy at developer Croteam.
In addition to the new content, Croteam and Devolver Digital will be making all Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter’s versus and survivor multiplayer modes free-to-play via Steam and available to download at no charge permanently starting May 15th. These free modes include Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Instant Kill, Last Man Standing, My Burden, Survival and Team Survival.
“Just the thought of all that extra cash is making me download some content into my pants,” claimed Fork Parker, CFO of Devolver Digital, “Profit makes me horny.”

Didn't see this added to the thread anywhere. I really think Croteam should have more levels in their DLC's...

I agree. But then they only charge $5 for a 90 to 120 minute campaign (3 levels each taking about 30 to 40 minutes) and add a few MP levels in the same pack. That's at least what the "Legend of the Beast" DLC for SS TSE was like.

The first level in that dlc takes so long because you have to snipe with the weakest weapon. Not exactly fun.
But I do agree with your model of levels that belong in a DLC.

Yeah. The first level was meh. It was like DNF. Shoot at very few enemies with a very weak weapon.
Speaking of that:
Has the Duke Nukem voicemod for SS3 been mentioned here?
It replaces Sam's one-liners with Duke's one liners (also in cutscenes), replaces most weapon sonds, gives Sam the Duke gloves and a Golden Eagle. Now wee need to provide the extracted DNF Duke model to the modder and also some extracted weapon models.

I tested that out lol It's pretty cool I agree its not complete without a Duke player model, I offered to give the 2011 or 2007 Duke to the modder but he didnt get back to me.
Do you ever think that The Gnaar monster could be replaced with the DNF Pigcop model? The kinda move the same to me.

I think Pigcops could replace Gnaar and Kleer (the Pigcops have a jumping animation and jump at you). All headless soldiers could be replaced by the Terminators/Duke-Clones. Well, the Octabrains become Bipedal-Brains and replace the walkers. Octabrains also have similar bullets and attacks as the Harpy.
Headless Kamikaze will become ... headless strippers. And they need two big boombs.
Replace Egypt with some Urban maps and we are done.

That could have a twisted design lol A headless Stripper with her tits ripped out of her chest and 2 big bombs fill the holes, she runs screaming at Duke, Duke would be pissed at it too lol. Now that I think about it, that would be a cool original enemy for Duke Nukem 5 lol

I played this on my pc with my little brother in split-screen and it was a blast !
The only thing i didn't like were the parts with the auto guns that kept shooting you down when you would pop your head around the corner, but after that it is all awesome.

I'm probably not going to pick up the DLC for PC anyway.

The general consensus with Serious Sam is that the game's core gameplay has been done to death at this point (especially Egypt) and that the next game definitely needs something new. If anything the Legend of the Beast was a step backwards, and if it's any indication of what the new SS3 DLC is going to be like, then it just looks like it's going to be more of the same, and this is supported by all the screenshots they've released so far.
Hell, everything's become so same-ish that Croteam are pretty much making all of their "new" content by cross porting things like enemies back and forth between games instead of actually coming up with new ideas...

(Cheap, dirty, quickly built yet surprisingly fun map I made for WGRealms v2 with about 10 minutes of gameplay. Not sure if this will ever be released, the detail is minimal and shading is non-existant.)

I actually checked it out the other day and it was fun to play around with
@Micky C
I'd play it!

Very cool as usual man, though how would I know about this? xD
@Lunick Awesome man, I'm glad it's as good to play as it looks in the videos.
