Out of genuine curiosity, how do you support yourself?

The problem with this country is that unless you are rich or from another country, you struggle to get any education or a job and if you don't work and have about ten children you qill get payed much more than you would if you got one of the jobs available to you, that is assuming you could get one of those jobs.

Aren't there employment agencies who help people with disabilities get jobs where you are? That's how I got my current job.

Heheh, that's funny, because that sums up all my interests. I like art, but besides the point of art being USELESS from a money-making aspect unless you're a lucky-fucker, I am much too lazy and lack so much motivation that I could never make pocket change off of it. I also like graphic design, but mainly just as a hobby and I don't think I'd like to enter the field as a job, however, I have been seriously thinking about going to culinary school at some point.

Wow that sucks, I hope the pay or perks are good. I imagine at least some of it would be driving or sitting around keeping an eye or something which isn't too labour intensive, so I'd consider that a perk.

Go for it (culinary school), if you love food it will enrich your life. Even though I dont work professionally as a chef anymore it doesnt stop me making amazing meals anytime I want and quickly, having a serious understanding of food and ingredients can only be a good thing and its fun to learn and see your progress. Having said that it is an extremely difficult profession with very long hours (I have often had to work 16 hours straight with zero break and its all gogogo) and their isnt really proper workers rights in most restaurants, thats why there are so many immigrants and illegal workers in the industry which also brings down the pay for everyone else as a brazilian dude will work for next to nothing without complaining.
But if you get in with a good team of guys in a nice place it can be awesome and very rewarding, either way you will eat well for the rest of your life if you do it for a few years. I just couldnt see myself doing that job when I was 50 so I moved on, I also have a problem where I get bored of everything really fast and lifes too short to be stuck somewhere you dont want to be.
Also I might add you dont have to go to school to be a great chef, you can start by doing a short course or start by washing dishes or just blagg your way in, many of the worlds greatest chefs never went to school, you learn everything on the job.

Working at a fast food joint has fuck all to do with being a chef. Although some of the burgers at Carl's Junior are pretty awesome. The closest I came to doing that was working at Round Table Pizza one summer when I was a teenager. Nowadays it seems like getting any job is a major accomplishment, at least in the U.S.

True fast food is a differant ball game and it lacks the creativity that comes with working in a fine dining restaurant and thats the most rewarding part, I dont have kids to feed but if I did I would have no problem working in Burger king. Well I would have a problem with it but I would have to dig deep just to get by. In Ireland there are nearly no jobs yet people still make fun of people who work at Mc Donalds (if they are Irish), its funny how my country became full of obnoxious snobs after the "boom" in the economy, there are many jobs that I would consider beneath me I guess thats why Im unemployed at the moment but the way I see it is fuck it Im highly skilled in a few diciplines so why should I have to do grunt work again?
Answer: Because my countrys fucked.

Everyday I drive into the fucking jammed road I think the same: when will be the day I´ll seek for a job according my skills. The biggest problem is that those jobs are not well paid here and I raise three kids plus i´m paying a sort of mortgage. That leaves no chance to take risks.

That's what he was saying. If you have a long history of working in fast food, you're less likely to get hired.

I do freelance as a photographer whenever opportunity arises (that interests me) and occassionally sell my paintings.

Probably bad for me. Most of my jobs are working in retail with the exception of that one at my local computer shop building computers and when I worked at city hall for 3 years delivering mail.
