As soon as I saw the Cover Art the first thing that came to mind, was that they were trying to make him look more young, handsome and feminine (the face),
so that It would have a better marketing impact.
It's certainly not the look that 3D Realms envisioned i'd be fairly confident to say.
The duke that was "all out of gum" was so much more aggressive and badass looking:
Maybe after he became the King of the World, he had too much "gum" at his disposal,
lost his aggression, got a make over, and had a bit of plastic surgery done!
This has been my biggest gripe with the Gearbox takeover, coupled with their decision to change the Vegas levels to day time.
I sure hope there will be at least 1 vegas night time level, i mean come on, anytime you hear the word Vegas,
you think of that neon glowing city, under the night sky!
I still respect Gearbox for all they have done, but these 2 points would be my biggest criticism of their work,
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Cool! It seems those guys are updating their software to be able to extract DNF assets out of their archives.
That's going to help the DNF modding community, if there will be one at all.

He looks like he is day dreaming looking through a wall. He has no cool mouth and eyebrow expressions.
Would love to see him animated without his glasses.
If I get his model in gmod, I can play with his facial expression if he has face muscles modeled.

I know why he looks so different now. His in game face has his forehead creased and his face muscles tensed while here his face has no expression activated on it.
He still has a baby face even when you put his glasses back on.
Come to think of it, even his nose looks weird.
It might be that what those people found in the game was an older model of Duke that was left in the game for some reason?

Like I said, this model has a different nose and seems much younger than the one that's actually in the demo.
Go look play the demo and look at duke's face in the mirror and you will see it doesn't look the same.

@ Mr. Deviance - you are right. I don't think the model from the forum is that in the demo, or the face is fine tunable. Still, are you working with the model from the forum?

If you look at his hair, you will notice that the pic from the left looks different.
