You guys are right! I am cancelling my pre-order right now! And yours! I can't let you play a game with so many defects! Anyone who buys this game is the enemy! And you are supporting Communism!
Ok, I am done... sorry. Having shell shock from all the negative power-trippin forum posts I have read since the Demo release.
Hehehe
There game is going to be a lot of fun even in spite of all the things "it isn't".

Hey man listen. I too notice lots of negative rants about the demo but it really isn't THAT BAD.
I am not trying to be a fanboy or anything here. I expected DNF to suck ass and for real, the demo was a 2001 game with graphics that are from 2005-2006.
If you are willing to accept the idea that DNF can potentially be a great competitor for Half Life 1, then you are ready to enjoy this game.
This dnf game has only evolved from a graphics standpoint but the gameplay is the same that you would expect a game to have in 2001.
You see, if dnf would have been released in 2001 as they initially intended to do so, a new sequel would have come out followed by 1 or 2 more sequels that would have gradually improved the gameplay style and graphics.
Because there was no other duke game since 96 other than DNF's development, DNF is truly a 2001's game with 2005-2006 graphics and some forced 2009 features like ambient occlusion that were added by greabox to give the game more depth for it's 3d objects.
The game is 2005-2006 graphics at heart but gearbox forced it to use some modern shaders just for the sake of improving it a bit more.
The game looks as if would run on a 2007 pc, while in reality it needs a relatively decent 2010 pc to run maxed out just because of a few shaders that barely make a bit of difference, while they drain the budget of your video card like mad.
In case you don't know what ambient occlusion is, then here's an example.
