No, it would be unfair for the majority of people to be forced to wait because of Sony's fuckup, especially since nobody knows when it will be fixed. There's also news of a third attack. PS3 users should be mad at Sony, but not expect the rest of the industry to cater to them.

Also another thing that you might not realize is that I wasn't aware that this psn shit of theirs is still down.
I hate this generation's consoles and I have nothing to do with them, so the fact that I already knew the psn was down felt that I already knew too much about shit that's not important to me.
I honestly couldn't care less about sony's inside networks and other utilities for their users.

Damn, a few different replies before I posted. I agree that it's Sony's problem. I sympathize with the PS3\PSN users also, but a lot of this is on Sony. For one they didn't have good enough security, second, it's their fault that the hackers hacked their system. They're the ones suing everybody who thinks it's okay to do what you want with your own console, which is probably what caused people to hack them in the first place.

I hate consoles. Except I've always liked Nintendo.

ANYWAY, that's a console vs PC debate that isn't related to the topic. I still think it's BS that PSN should hold up the release of the demo, but I doubt bitching about it will do any good.

The point I made is that they lit the fire. The fact that their PSN system was hacked isn't surprising. I blame the hacker, but I blame the fact that if Sony didn't keep handing out lawsuits like candy to people who want to do what they want with their OWN PS3, then maybe they wouldn't have been hacked to begin with.

At my age, I consider that what I do is share my knowledge with others and not shake the pom poms for one team like you say.
I have almost every console ever produced and I am also a pc user since the precambrian era.
There is no competition between pcs and consoles and it never was.
Pcs can even keep on existing without games at all, so that's the problem that usually kids don't seem to understand.
Almost 90% of the kids that have consoles bought to them, are technologically illiterate and their only pleasure is to rival with their friends and with strangers about their gaming platforms, thus including the pc in the mix, since almost all of them consider the pc to be a console too...

Also, you are wrong. Consoles don't have any other use aside from the fact that they are more portable than a pc.
I could understand somebody that wanted to move his gaming place frequently from tv to tv, a console would be ideal for that since a decent pc is huge and heavy and can't be moved everywhere all the time.
But for their portability and their lack of features, they are too damn expensive and are not worth the price, especially since you can't upgrade them.

As for a pc vs consoles, I still maintain that only technologically illiterate people and fanboys like to compare consoles with pcs when there is in fact no comparison to be made.
By following that Idea, you could also start comparing mobile phones with consoles and pcs and other tech devices that have a screen and an input output system in them...
I can understand the curiosity one might have in comparing how a game looks on different platforms, just to see how much better the game would look if they had bought a pc instead of a console.
There isn't any other comparison to be made between a pcs and consoles aside from that.

I also have friends that have decent gaming pcs and a ps3 or a 360 too and when they bitch and whine about the psn being down I still tell them to stfu and stop investing money into corporatist boxes and prebuilt shit because in this age, consoles are not what they used to be and they have become a tight box where corporations control your every move and option.

But I do believe retard boxes is a much better description because by my standards you have to be pretty rich or careless to invest your money into a current gen console if you don't buy it especially because you are in need of gaming mobility.
Sadly I can't recommend an alienware gaming laptop instead of consoles because those laptops are slightly more expensive than consoles but if you do have the money for one, I would definitely recommend getting one and you can solve your mobility problem and also get infinitely more for your money than with a corporatist box...
