Latest Eduke and no high res graphics [Solved]

Hello,

I'm currently having a "graphics" problem. This morning, when I launched Eduke it told me there was a new version. So I downloaded it and copied/replaced the old ones in my DUKE 3D directory...
But now when I launch it I get tons of warning in the log and the graphics are low res. The text of the menu is high res but all in game graphics is low res... To be trully honest, I know nothing about all this (yeah i'm a noob) and I really have no clue why I get all those warning about tiles... I guess it's what's causing my graphics problem but I don't know anything about it so thought i'd rather ask you bosses of the thing :dukegoof: The game loads, no problem for that, it doesn't crash, I just have the old badass graphics.
Do you guys know what's the problem and what I could do about it?

Here is my log

Your installation appears to be messed up.
You have disabled autoload since no HRP files are loaded (no Using file 'autoload/polymer_hrp.zip' as game data. or similar in your log file).
Despite that, duke3d.def is loaded from somewhere. Did you start eduke32.exe from within a mod directory like attrition or DukePlus?
The autoload folder needs to be on the same hierarchy level as eduke32.exe.
Btw, better post your logs as attachments.

Damn autoload folder.

I wouldn't recommend using autoload... instead, place the mod in its own folder and select it from the drop-down folder list in the startup window.

Ah ok ! thanks for the "attachment" thing. I'll change that :dukegoof:

To be honest I have no clue, I always thought I was launching it directly since i'm using the Eduke32 exe so I really don't know if it's the right way or not...
I didn't change anything in the settings so I really have no clue how the autoload got disabled...

I've just discovered that you even have some reference to the long dead SD_DUKE mod in your log. So let's stop the hassle and do a clean install. Your machine is most likely too weak to run the Polymer HRP so I recommend the Polymost HRP for you.

- Create a new Duke Nukem game directory, for example F:\Duke3D.
- Copy DUKE3D.GRP and DUKE.RTS to the game dir.
- Unzip the current or latest eduke32 to the game dir.
- Create the autoload directory within the game dir.
- Download the Polymost HRP, Polymost HRP update 4.1.1, Maphacks 4.1.1 and put them into the autoload dir.

EDIT: Just noticed that dn3d_hrp-4.0(321).zip can't be dropped directly into your autoload folder. You have to extract duke3d_hrp.zip from the autoload folder within the zip and use that one.

Actually I just found out I had a clean install backup I made ages ago when I first installed the High res pack thing. I'm gonna see how it works out now.
gonna edit as soon as it's done (since i'm carefully making a back up before i change anything)

Thanks so much LeoD, did everything you said and it works wonder. Out of pure curiosity, if i want (on a more "powerful" PC) the polymer pack, where can I find it?
Again thanks you rock !

Here
Scroll down to the Polymer HRP v4.2.231 ZIPFILE. Get Polymer maphacks as well. (Delete the other HRP/update/maphack files in autoload.)

If you choose to use one of the music packs you might have to rename the zip file. Autoload contents are loaded alphabetically and the music pack needs to be loaded after the HRP.

Self-promotion: Try the unofficial Polymost HRP update pack from my signature. (Replaces 4.1.1 versions of HRP update and maphacks.)

I will say use this option, plus it does not use the "autoload" folder which is now really obsolete.

Polymer HRP
