I wonder if you can get oil from people?

Yes. But Oilent Green would not be cost-effective if you think about how much it takes to grow a human to, say, 100kg which would give you half a tankful at best.

I'm one of those people that thought Soilent Green was a good idea.

With or without involving euthanasia, executions or murder there are simply not enough people around and dying. Just compare how much food you need per year and how many people you know might die during that time - that would only average to a little snack now and then.

@Mr. Flibble; Yeah, that'll happen if I come to power, it is in my "population control" policy.

@LeoD; Maybe there aren't enough people, but it would at least make the natural oil last a little longer, perhaps long enough for use to find a real alternative.

Not really:
- Daily oil consumption worldwide (2008) : 14x10^9 liters
- Current world population : 7x10^9
20 liters/person > 10 days

Today's lesson:
Making regular DVD backups of documents is a worthwhile exercise. Especially right before installing a new OS.

I was looking for a database I had of phone numbers and other information (if I were to put it in there). Turns out that I didn't copy it after installing Windows 7 over a year ago. Good thing I had the file on a DVD from then other wise I would have had to do more than add a few people and correct some stuff.
I'm considering a new phone and I don't want to be remiss of phone numbers.

Well, another computer will be converted to Linux. Wish me luck, this may be another fucked up weekend.

Soylent Green tastes very good, it's now called Taco. :P

Thanks – I'm am now smarter but not any closer to my actual goal. I think the time you are waiting for Windows to do something is offset by figuring out what command you need to type into Linux. I still have like pages and pages and pages of manuals to read. It's interesting, so no complains, but I will need more luck next weekend. :P

What type of large commercial place closes at 7pm on a Sunday? That is just stupid. I wanted to get a sandwich but the place was closed...at 7 on a Sunday. That pisses me off; almost as much as spending 3 hours taking a test that was supposed to be 2 hours long.

This reminds me I've got to order Pizza, before my girl comes, I'm supposed to cook, but don't work never on Sunday's, it's a holy day.

I thought about ordering pizza but my roommate had made some food. However, I still want a sandwich and we have no bread.

Of course, my bad day has gotten worse since I try making tea and realize that this tea bag has been around too long and really isn't fresh anymore; thus makes weak tea.

I've always got a few frozen pizzas in the freezer, so whenever I feel like pizza I just stick one in the oven for 20 minutes or so. They're not bad.

They aren't. I am a fan of Pizza rolls but one of those big bags will last a week around me.

I could use one of these. It's a Stargate themed watch. I've had my current watch since I was 14 or so.

I remember seeing a TV ad for a solar powered watch...I looked up the website and was shocked at the thing...but I forgot what its name was and upon looking for it, I have discovered that they have been making solar powered watches for decades.

Also:
WARNING: Bean Burritos may cause what seems like a fart but turns out to not be a fart. :P :D

Me: That Macgyver is a genius.
My brother: First of all, he's not a genius, he's an actor. And second, he's not much of an actor.
Me: You're lying! You're lying!!

My brother hates Richard Dean Anderson. I tried to get him to watch Stargate, but he would only watch one episode. We watched Window of Opportunity from season 4. For those who are unfamiliar, Colonel O'Neill and Teal'c were caught in this time loop where they were reliving the same day over and over again. Daniel told him that you could do whatever you wanted without having to worry about consequences.

Way off-topic FUCK Linux, and Open Source shit, and never install it on a Think Pad, ever! Unless, you are willing to burn 20 or so CDs, whilst it erases all yor critical drivers. I mean fuck, this took me a week to figure out, that's not me unable to get anything done, nothing gets done without a driver - don't ask. I'm pissed, like in real explosion ready. Only get Linux preloaded! Yes, Sir, Amen Brother, actually not even that, who says I need to be fair. Office = Oracle, Home = Windows, and fuck all the rest. No money? To bad, make some. I mean fuck! :P

Why did you need 20 CDs? 1 CD/netinstall should be sufficient. Which distribution did you try? Btw. Eduke32 is open source shit, too. :D

Ubuntu, it's made for humans.

Ah, yes, in theory. However, if you are stupid enough to install Debian Small Image over an XP Pro OS, with only one MBR partition onto a Think Pad, you'll overwrite everything, including drivers, one being the wireless one. At that moment, you are fucked. That laptop is toast, unless I hook it up to another computer and reload the original IBM package, or sift through all available iso images to find the right keyboard, wireless, usb dvd etc (about 20 files at their ftp site). And the forums? Well, based on the google match, those peeps answer only clever questions, like how to program a driver and not where it is. Fuck them!

I like Eduke32, and I have blind spots at things I like, and I've got Ubuntu on my travel comapanion, but it came pre-installed.

What drivers are you talking about exactly? Linux won't need anything that was on the hard drive before you installed it to get eg. wireless working. Most laptops these days have a recovery image in the form of a first "hidden" partition at the head of the disk, is that what you're referring to? You don't actually need that either, if you change your mind and re-install Windows after the fact you can find specific Windows drivers on the manufacturers website.

Linux should install wireless drivers. If it doesn't you can try hooking it up on a line and it should connect allowing you to find the drivers.

Truth be told I despise the administration panel for vB. I just love Invision Board a lot and switching to vB would be a huge hassle at best.

Seems they might cancel one of my favorite shows for this year. You might know of this show as This generation's X-Files, also known as Fringe. Season 3 might be it's last. I'm already guessing how it's going to end though.

Spoiler

A bit longer than "decades" I think.

That can hardly be considered a watch, unless spinning around in a circle means you're really travelling through time.
