Surgery? For what? Yeah, I've had surgery but not as much as I should have.

When I was born I had a hole in my back above my anus, I can't feel anything there anymore though the hole was removed. I am also prone to cysts, they usually occur in my back or legs and I just leave them alone but I've had them on my bollocks before and thus had them removed - they've come back again though and I don't get Anesthetic this time :(

I've also just had a procedure involving freezing a mole off my chest. Usually though, like if I break bones or cut myself open somewhere I just leave it and hope it will go away, I remember going to college on my bicycle with a broken foot and refusing to be sent home.

Jeez man ouch! But hang on let me just get this straight you had a cysts on your balls and had them removed?! fuck man that sounds seriously painful but the way you wrote it make it sound as though you had your bollocks removed, I had to re read you post understand :( Why aren't you allowed anesthetic if it comes back?

Commando Nukem I'm asking because I feel like it.

No, I haven't had my balls removed, but I did have the cysts removed from them - I wouldn't mind if they did take my balls off, they've been nothing but trouble and probably don't even work anymore. I don't know why I aren't allowed anesthetic when I go back, they argue that it's a "Procedure" as opposed to an operation and that it isn't required, not even local anesthetic - I expect they are trying to save money or something. Hence, I've been walking around with this problem again for about 3 years now, when it hurts enough that I'm losing sleep, I'll go back.

Oh damn, thats really really bad, hell I'd personally argue that you want anesthetic. period. And yes I know you didn't have your balls chopped off.

My advice however is DO NOT have local anesthetic d'you how much that hurts?

That isn't particularly funny...

You may not have noticed but you are the "new guy" 'round these parts. You broke the rules there for flaming. Even if it was a spam bot, it is flaming. Their rules are run on a corporate level; here it is more personal and the only reason you aren't banned/tachy-ed is because at least some of the mods haven't gotten tired of your posting yet.
The correct action when a spam bot posts is to report the post and ignore it. On the rare occasion that a spam bot does post here, no one cares if you yell at it in rage but the more mature thing is to ignore it and report it. However, this is a community run site* so the rules are different. You have to get used to different rules if you ever want to function in society.

Never claimed it to be funny at all. I only threw in the kidding because you take things too seriously and I wanted to make sure you understand I wasn't flaming you. Whatever.

Trick-or-treater's suck, I thought begging was illegal in England? Why can't these kids be normal and go around egging things?

We always used to do it for the whole week that Hallowéen fell inside of. Having said that, we used to do more than just egg things, putting liquid steel in the locks of the houses that bastards that had trick-or-treated lived in you was always fun.

I love Hallowe'en.

Trick'r'Treating was developed to halt the amount of mischief that went on with teenagers. Instead of egging, TP'ing, and doing various other tricks, they could go door to door and ask "Trick or Treat?" If the unwitting patron didn't feel like giving them a treat to ward them off, they could just pull a trick. Or get their treats and trick them anyways.

Also, Flibble, I'd want to punch that guy too. "All Hallow's Evening Eve?"

Actually, I hear that trick or treating comes from begging in Medieval Europe. I did some research on Halloween and the various traditions.

Celtic Harvest festival that involved a weakening barrier between the living and the dead "world" which is why you dress up (to trick the evil spirits roaming around) and apparently it was a common practice (mentioned in passing in Shakespeare) to ask for food on Hallowed Eve in exchange for praying for the dead relatives of the givers - the eve part is for the Feast of All Saints which is November 1 and then November 2 is The Feast of All Souls; The month of November is dedicated to remembering the deceased.

This is true, however, the practice of asking for "prayer cakes" in exchange for prayers for family members in Purgatory had long been over, and I don't think it was ever brought to America before Trick'r'Treating. However, yes, that is directly where the idea came from, except the treats were turned into bribes so their shit wouldn't get fucked up by the kids. Hallowe'en is really cool because it's such an amalgam of traditions, ideas, and separate holidays, celebrations, and festivals.

...and yet, (I hear) Evangelical Christians are opposed to it because of the said combination of pagan rituals. Don't tell them that the Christmas tree stems (harhar) from idol worship from Germany (Thor's tree, interestingly enough) and the date is partially related to the Roman winter solstice et al. But never mind that...can't celebrate Halloween because you dress up as something...

Thor's tree was supposed to be a symbol against the people who believed in Norse gods, showing that if you had a tree in your household it represented that you believed in Christ. And so what if it was made to be celebrated on the day of the Roman winter solstice? The Roman empire was Catholic at that time.

Eh. Yeah. It was eventually (since it was a fir not an oak) to represent anti-Thor symbolism. It took Rome (despite what they will tell you and Constantine's best efforts) several centuries before it fully accepted the Christian religion. Many emperors after Constantine lead persecutions and attempts to weaken the religion (and return to the glory days of Emperor Worship). It takes more than an Intro to World History class to cover the good stuff though.
Several pagan holidays were "baptized" so that the believers would not go off and get involved with the pagan festivals (which tended to involve lots of revelry of the kind we can only dream of). Valentine's Day (which is, ironically, no longer the Feast of St. Valentine) is (by some) believed to be a baptizing of the Roman Lupercalia which was a fertility feast (and involved lots and lots of sex).

Just had a power cut, then, when the power came back (The lighting circuits are a bit fried but everything else is up) I was sat bringing my Evil Empire back up to speed by candle light and a damn Ant Spider comes down on his web just an inch in front of my face.

Now, I'm not scared of Spiders at all, but that, with the candle light and the fact I have never seen an Ant Spider before shook me for a second.

Little bugger won't bother me no more though, I threw him in the cupboard, mehehehehe! (I like spiders so I never kill them, even if they are those horrible Woodlouse Eating ones.).

Hehe, reminds me of one of those scripts I wrote and never did anything with, it basically involved Duke Nukem discovering he had cockroaches in his apartment and using explosives to exterminate them.

Does anyone know why spiders tend to do that? Some of them are ballsy mother fuckers and have no sense of personal space.
