I miss reading books a lot. For decades I was an avid reader of sci-fi, swords and sorcery type books. I have many shelves of them. Every 5 years or more I would grab some and re-read them. I would still remember the general outline but all the details seemed mostly fresh again. But about 5 years ago or more I noticed an increase in the number of "floaters" in my left eye. When I focus in on the pages they became annoying enough that I stopped reading. I tried to ignore them but I couldn't.

I'm sorry you have to experience that, going from reading part of infinite jest 2 some years ago to being able to only focus enough for discord and forum posts and any books shorter then 20 pages, bothered me greatly when it happened. I gave all my books away to a friend cause i just couldn't, never finished infinite jest even though i wanted to.

Hopefully this isn't a one time thing for me, its not going to save me or anything, but winning, even a little against something like this feels great.

I hope that isn't a forewarning to even worse with your eye, as i assume you've been toa doc, i hope you can also somehow get to reading again.
