That place should have been obliterated sooner rather than later. Like 2012 or something when the founders still worked there.

Computers might be twice as fast as they were in 1973, but your average voter is as drunk and stupid as ever. The only one who's changed is me. I've become bitter and let's face it crazy over the years.

If your PSN account is hacked and purchases are made, not only can you not get a refund (except store credit), but if you do a chargeback they will permanently ban and revoke your account.

Now that's service!

It's funny how only a few hours ago me and a friend were talking about this stuff whilst walking around Bridlington of all things. I explained how as late as 2001 I sent away to Nintendo for a new SNES power brick (Identical to the NES one) due to the connections in mine coming loose and making the brick intermittent.

I also bashed Sega because he was a Sega kid and I was a Nintendo kid. It's all in good fun though, just a joke at this point, given we like both systems.

Anyway, I even got to keep the original brick and repaired it a few years later, which came in handy when the NES I got circa 2007 had a dead brick... Well... Kind of, I haven't used the NES much overall because, to be honest, I never liked it that much and find it overrated. I prefer the Master System - that's not saying there aren't good games on the NES too, Journey to Silius is fucking awesome, but I don't feel bad for running them in an emulator so much unless I was making a video about it and I always liked the SNES version of the Mario games better. The Master System vastly outsold the NES in my corner of the world though.

Whatever, SNES forever, best console ever. Best games, great controllers and awesome technology. The Mega Drive is a close second, not always for the same reasons, but again it has an amazing library of games and that's what matters most. Fuck PSN, I don't know what it is mind you, presumably PlayStation stuff, but I don't like the sound of it. Good luck doing something like that to my 16-Bit console, I don't need accounts and continual internet connections to play my cartridges and about the worst thing that ever happens is a dirty slot or a dead SRM battery every decade or so. Speaking of Save RAM, did anyone here ever watch a channel called 8 Bit Memoirs, hosted by Charles and Dave as they played various games (usually badly)? It got took down in the YouTube purge sadly, but I still have an Earthbound cart I won from them and keep meaning to see if it still has their save in tact. I'll miss that channel, those guys were funny and ahead of the curve - in one of their last videos, circa 2011, they talked sarcastically about "Misogyny" and implied a wave of delusional feminism, social justice and a few other issues which are prominent today.

I find it hard to like retro console collecting mainly because of PAL region consoles/games being constantly screwed over the years. If I go back and play almost any game from that era, I just know that the game is performing slower than it should be and it really irks me.

Fan remake of Metroid 2's been released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series.

The Prey 2 character viewer displayed facial gore by mounting the alien heads on trophies. There's a Glider and the back end of a Fodder from the first Prey.

For Super Nintendo stuff, you can disable the lockout chip and install a 50Hz/60Hz switch. This will fix the speed issues.

For Genesis stuff, install separate region and output switches. Boot the game in 60Hz/EUR mode. For games with a proper 50Hz conversion, run it in 50Hz/EUR. Connect the system to an LCD TV or an NTSC CRT with a transformer. Older Sony professional video monitors are a great bet, I've heard many of them can do both NTSC and PAL. Plus they look FANTASTIC!

Presto! No more paying for overpriced foreign cartridges!

I haven't, but I've read that it just debuted some very promising Saturn emulation.

byuu is their forum mod. I don't know his involvement in that project, or if what he's doing is some kind of off-shoot, collaboration, or crossover to his higan project
