It's funny how only a few hours ago me and a friend were talking about this stuff whilst walking around Bridlington of all things. I explained how as late as 2001 I sent away to Nintendo for a new SNES power brick (Identical to the NES one) due to the connections in mine coming loose and making the brick intermittent.
I also bashed Sega because he was a Sega kid and I was a Nintendo kid. It's all in good fun though, just a joke at this point, given we like both systems.
Anyway, I even got to keep the original brick and repaired it a few years later, which came in handy when the NES I got circa 2007 had a dead brick... Well... Kind of, I haven't used the NES much overall because, to be honest, I never liked it that much and find it overrated. I prefer the Master System - that's not saying there aren't good games on the NES too, Journey to Silius is fucking awesome, but I don't feel bad for running them in an emulator so much unless I was making a video about it and I always liked the SNES version of the Mario games better. The Master System vastly outsold the NES in my corner of the world though.
Whatever, SNES forever, best console ever. Best games, great controllers and awesome technology. The Mega Drive is a close second, not always for the same reasons, but again it has an amazing library of games and that's what matters most. Fuck PSN, I don't know what it is mind you, presumably PlayStation stuff, but I don't like the sound of it. Good luck doing something like that to my 16-Bit console, I don't need accounts and continual internet connections to play my cartridges and about the worst thing that ever happens is a dirty slot or a dead SRM battery every decade or so. Speaking of Save RAM, did anyone here ever watch a channel called 8 Bit Memoirs, hosted by Charles and Dave as they played various games (usually badly)? It got took down in the YouTube purge sadly, but I still have an Earthbound cart I won from them and keep meaning to see if it still has their save in tact. I'll miss that channel, those guys were funny and ahead of the curve - in one of their last videos, circa 2011, they talked sarcastically about "Misogyny" and implied a wave of delusional feminism, social justice and a few other issues which are prominent today.
