Anger is a powerful fuel that I haven´t used in years. I wonder if controlling anger is a good thing or not. It´s socially more acceptable but not sure ifs good for mental health. I was going to post that on my fb but i think it´s better here where i don´t give a fuck of what people think about me. Does that mean I´m more comfortable here or not?

^ those are two things.

Controlling anger/aggression is a good thing, neutering it is not.

Kicking the shit out of people won't solve most problems, it will only make you feel good for a short time.

Well i was more refering to situations where violence isnt an option. You can´t start a fight at job or with your wife when you´re angry.

I'm still not convinced that "protected for widescreen" guarantees it will work flawlessly in 16:9

I had a look at my mother's phone (as it is the closest Android device I know of that has latest Facebook) and if you press the button with the 3 lines (no idea what it is called) and scroll down you will see Feeds and Most Recent. Obviously not a great solution as it won't stick to that but it is there, just hidden very well.

Anger is natural and correct but like reaction it can become a habit. Calming down is probably good and appropriate for reaction TO the feeling of anger. How you react to anger is choice at our current level of development. It is my opinion that violence in reaction to anger is natural and appropriate as a normal means of protecting ourselves... in a "wild" situation. It is also my opinion that Societies like to condition us that violence is "bad" and just like any other means or protection, it is only bad if used as an "only" solution, the same as firearms.
If by controlling your emotional reaction itself, I am quite certain that is not good for your mental health. The manifestation is often stress. Modern example of this is "Going Postal". That to me is what happens when you suppress emotions that are there for a reason.

I would say you are more comfortable here... probably because we are generally more open minded than you will ever find in a social media situation like FaceBook. I am not very compatible with anyone who frequents social media beyond a common bond like here with Duke Nukem and or gaming.
/end of ramble.
I think you do give a fuck what people think about you... but what people that is, does matter to you. Wise.

Hear, hear - on one hand society trains people to be killers for war action and the same society preaches anger management.
Killing my enemies is wrong, killing the enemies of the state is right. etc.

Somebody forgot to draw Australia. Easy to do I guess. Not much there. B)

Or is that supposed to be it stretched across the whole bottom of the map? I first assumed it was Antarctica.

So I finished a game this weekend from scratch. 72 hrs. For Ludum Dare 29 Game Jam.

Here is my post from there... ps. don't expect too much but let me know what you think if you play it.

Quote

Very happy with the outcome!! My very first game release, Beneath the Sands of Time.

Download Link

Time was tight and I don’t have any fancy screenshots yet. Just what I consider to be a very fun unique video game. I’ll polish it up and share the finished game here sometime.

Windows only, may need 2012 MSV runtimes installed to play.

Some details. Built in win 7, 64 bit, MSV 2012, Angel2D Game engine & Box2D physics.

Uses X-box 360 controller, recommended but not required.

Crushed a couple of Kowakian monkey-lizards tonight in our Star Wars D6 game night. Extremely satisfying for a Wookie.

Playing a game like Diablo 3 for months, and switching to something like Mass Effect was a bit disorienting.

What I mean is that Diablo 3's camera is placed above your character, while any Mass Effect or third person game the camera is placed behind you at ground level. If you haven't played a third person game in a while, it feels weird.

Well, there's a policy for my engineering degree is that you need 12 weeks of work experience with a professional company in order to actually graduate.

Unfortunately, this bullshit policy was started when there were a lot less engineering students studying the degree, and in a much better economic climate (i.e engineering companies have gone bankrupt, and a lot of the rest don't have the time or energy to take on students).

Don't know why this policy is still in place... there's like 100 students in my degree and university alone applying for a potential absolute maximum of 20 companies.

Ouch. Do you get paid for it though? If so it's not too bad. Everyone starts off with a low salary. Btw if you're going to be an electrician, I hear tradies get pretty decent pay B)

The Christchurch earthquake is old news, assuming anyone cared about NZ in the first place Posted Image

Although apparently my hometown is predicted to have earthquakes some time in the future. Part of me hopes that they cause a decent level of damage so that engineers will become crazily in demand in order to rebuild everything Posted Image
