Just saw one of my favorite bands, Meshuggah, live from the front row. It was a breathtakingly amazing experience I'll never forget!

Think I might have to adjust some settings, not sure what it says that my computer almost locks up when I open the "What are you listening to" thread... besides that I probably need a new one.

Bah engine troubles means I have to get my car to a garage tomorrow before work. More specifically I believe the glowplugs and DPF need to be replaced. Thankfully there's a second car I can use while it gets fixed up but I'll be at work at least an hour late for sure which will be annoying. I'll also have to leave early to pick up the car from the garage... Gonna be a tedious day.

That happened to me not too long ago. I'm a little luckier than you because I drive a Chevy truck and work at a Chevy dealership. And I live only 3 miles from work so I can take my bike or Electric motorcycle when the truck needed to be towed. But I didn't always have it so good, so I know what a pain it can be.

Don't get me started on car troubles. I've had my truck for like three years now, I've driven it twice. Fuck.

Shit, bro. You should start a car and let it run for a minute every few weeks if it's just sitting idle. Hopefully you are not the owner of scrap metal on wheels.

The engine is great. It runs like a charm. Yet there is a whole bevy of electrical issues and shorts. It's a pile of shit and resentment on wheels. I hate it so much.

I'm pretty sure I'll never buy a car.

I could see this being song lyrics of a shitty emo song, or a rocking GWAR song.

I'll be sure to write in my diary about it.

Burnett, the absolute worst part is I didn't buy it. My grandmother, before she passed, had given me a thousand dollars in like a bank trust thing, I forgot what it's called. I did intend to use it to buy a car, that way I could actually garner employment. My dad asked if he could borrow the thousand, and give me $500 in interest, I said it wasn't necessary but he insisted. Anyway, instead of paying me back, he bought this piece of shit.

Wow... What an ass thing to do.

I wouldn't even know how to drive, let alone pass an exam if it had happened to me.

In the sector I work on it's not uncommon to get company cars, which is what "my" car is. It's also free to use for any private transporation outside work though.

So took it to the garage, turns out there's indeed something wrong with the engine. Have a replacement car to drive for now but hopefully it should be fixed tomorrow. Cause the replacement car is pretty horrible. ;)

My company only gave me a cellphone cause I didn't have one. Not that I need a car in my line of work of mostly sitting on my ass.

Jesus fucking Christ...

I remember the days when crazy people couldn't conventionally get access to small arsenals. This happened a few blocks from where I live. I was going to head to campus tomorrow to talk to an undergrad assistant before I apply here, just so I can get all the information I need. Looks like that shit ain't going to be happening now. Least nobody appears to have been killed.

These stories really have more impact when they are close to you. "It always happens somewhere else" is what I usually think. I live a few miles from the Sikh temple shooting in Wisconsin. But if you let it change your decision it's another victory for the shooter.

Nah, I'm not worried about getting blown away or anything, it's just that since it happened near the university, campus might be shut down today. Unlikely, but even so, there's no guarantee the undergrad assistants will be there now.

DA3 was at least announced so having it on the show wouldn't have been that surprising. HL3 on the other hand...

I was wondering what I was looking for...I say DA3 and just thought "OK, cool, I haven't gotten to DA2 but whatever"...then I saw Half-Life 3....well, yeah, that isn't possible.

Part of me was looking for Duke Nukem on there.

In other news:
There is a proposed bill in the US to restructure NASA's funding. I think this bill would be a good thing based on what I read.

I think that part of me is wishing it wasn't dead. Kind of like a zombie wishing he didn't have an uncontrollable urge to eat brains.

I don't feel anything towards possible sequel to Duke. In part because GBX with Pitchford are involved. I remember his interviews and his phony enthusiastic hyping of the game on conventions. I can't bear it anymore.
