I can't bear to look. :lol: It'd be like looking at a photo of some hobo urinating on the Mona Lisa.

Well, maybe not that bad...

Does the seller still get to keep his money with the ebay buyer protection policy?

Not much of a scandal, but my suspicions on the user "rasmus thorup" going around down voting many of my posts that generally seem random proved correct.
Feel free to attack him back my minions, as you will be rewarded. :lol:

I noticed that there were a group of four or five people (all of whom I suspected) that would randomly downvote my posts, especially in conversations they didn't even take part in.

From the only downvotes that I had recieved, they were from random people that I dont normally socialize with. Quite strange.

^Why downvotes should have been from the people you socialize with? In an ideal situation downvotes should not be because of your name or relationship with a voter but because of the post itself.

Yes, they didn't participate in conversation but still wanted to evaluate your opinion.

I broke down and pre-ordered Mass Effect 3. I never pre-order but I have this angst about wanting to play the game and I have money right now to spend on this type of thing...

Cool. Can't wait till March 6th myself. Well, actually according to Origin, the game unlocks on March 5th at 10 PM for me. I assume they did it that way since places like New York or Toronto are 2 hours ahead of Calgary. I mean for a North American release, they have to start from the east coast, but everyone essentially gets it at the same time. So I don't actually have to sit around all day wanting to play it, because I have to work and I'll be home around 7 PM.

I also went back and played Mass Effect 1 again because there was some stuff I wanted to make some last minute changes. Then I basically took a shortcut and after I finished the Mass Effect 2 playthrough, I just copy and pasted the save and changed the face code (save me about 30-40 hours of gameplay). Oh and for love interests without actually playing the game, I actually found a way with the save editor to change that. It's very complicated, but it can be done. That also saves even more time.

I might go through and play the first 2 a third time but not until I beat Mass Effect 3 at least once. I have a male "canonical" Shepherd from ME1 (I didn't make him "canonical" for ME2, but I might do that too eventually) and a female Shepherd. Honestly, I can't remember what class she was or anything else. I'd have to reinstall ME1 and ME2 to play through again since I formatted my computer recently with my hardware upgrade.

I wanted a physical copy so I didn't do the Origin digital stuff. I'll have to wait a few days after the release date to play it and I"m OK with that since, in reality, I would have had to wait until I got around to going to a Best Buy or something otherwise.

I just fixed my flash drive which had been broken for two months. There were two compounding problems: The chip encountered a problem caused by mechanical shock where the USB connector and its 4 pins had to be bent in a certain direction for the device to work. Because of this, I had to take the chip out of the plastic enclosure which made it hard to use, and in the process the chip no longer locked into the plastic and jiggled around.

My fix was to first push down the pins so that it worked when the USB connector was straight. Then, I use hot glue to attach the chip to the plastic at the connection points and covered the USB pins for good measure. Works like a charm!

I'd back up all that stuff and get a new flash drive, I wouldn't trust that to work for long.

It is backed up, but if this stops working the most it will do is cause the chip to come loose from the plastic again.

Speaking of ME1 I think I fixed the sound bugs. I had an onboard sound card before which wouldn't work with ME 1, so I put in my old Asus Xonar DX card. I edited the ME 1 BioEngine.ini file with this line:

[ISACTAudio.ISACTAudioDevice]
MaxChannels=64
UseEffectsProcesing=False
TimeBetweenHWUpdates=15.000000
MinOggVorbisDurationGame=20
MinOggVorbisDurationEditor=4
TotalAvailableChannels=64
ReserveChannels=2
DeviceName=Generic Hardware
UseEffectsProcessing=False

Also disabled my four Nvidia sound cards on my GTX 570. I have had no issues since. ME 1 runs like a dream now. No sound crackling, stuttering or anything like that.
Aside from the Mako it's a great game. I just need to drive carefully with it. With the Hammerhead in ME 2 I tend to floor it and crash into things.

I never had any problems with any of the Mass Effects games. Maybe I'm easy to satisfy or something.

I think I do remember learning how to drive in those games as being a hard process. The gas and brakes aren't always easy to adjust to. I have too many things on my plate right now to go do a playthrough of ME1 and ME2 to remind myself of things. The new Mass Effect 3 will be enough to keep me busy for a while.

In other news, I'm cleaning out my room and breaking down empty cardboard boxes from Amazon and Newegg. I'm trying to decide just how much organizing and cleaning I want to do today...

I have to throw out my Newegg box as well. My 4 bay external enclosure works very well. Especially with eSATA, Much faster than USB 2.0 or even 3.0 I believe.

Okay, seriously guys, fuck the Walking Dead. What the hell were their writers thinking? Most horribly contrived and shitty story arc I have ever witnessed.

Game plan for tomorrow:

Get up. Go to work. Come home around 7 PM. Do something until 10 PM. At 10 PM I will fire up Mass Effect 3 and retake the Earth. Also put down Harbinger.

Yeah I found it extremely disappointing after how much promise it seemed to have as the first series was so good, I've lost interest now.

I guess firing Darabont did make things worse. Haven't watched any episode, though.

Honestly, Breaking Bad's been the only show here lately that's worth my time to sit down and watch. Might just be me though, I'm not really a TV guy.

Not my pic, just one from the seller. It's one of those big cardboard advertisement posters you'd find hanging in a game store. It was on eBay and I'm surprised some rich guys didn't fight over it and end up paying hundreds. :lol: I still paid more than I wanted, but I highly doubt I'm ever going to see one of these again. Gonna frame it.

Judging by all the hills and valleys of shell casings, Duke Nukem is trying to create his interpretation of "Shrapnel City".

Hope that this seller sends the poster to you in decent condition unlike the previous one. With your luck, the poster will probably be sent to you creased and folded and bound with chewing gum.

Fortunately, this guy has been selling a lot of these things lately and they all seem to have arrived undamaged. I would be devastated if this arrived in a condition similar to that Wolfenstein 3d fiasco. Almost makes me sick just thinking about it.

Sweet, one thing that looks weird is, in the background, it seems that there are a lot of skyscrapers. Then suddenly, at the most left on the poster you see a square building much taller than the skyscrapers. It looks weird to me.
