Good luck! Hopefully it works. People can be bastards anyway.

Well, I had one phone interview which hopefully leads to an in person interview this week or next week. In the mean time, I've been applying everywhere and adjusting my resume here and there to make it look better. I just applied to work tech support for the US Air Force. They asked about security clearance which I have none but would love to get. Working for the government of armed forces is a pretty nice gig, at least I get the impression it is. Many jobs I've seen required security clearance to even apply.

What's a security clearance and how do you get it?

Hopefully this doesn't annoy my neighbours, I've always wanted to do something like this since I moved in. Originally it was going to be a Zelda cartridge but I decided to try something larger, think I'll go back to doing this with TVs though. Skip to 9:30.

Government clearance as in Top Secret etc. My understanding is that you can only get it if you already work for the government (or military). Basically, it is a very thorough background check. I'm not 100% sure what else is involved other than probably having personal references and work references and pretty much everything about you being examined before they let you get anywhere near any thing even remotely classified.
One of the jobs I applied for today seemed to indicate in the ad that you just have to be able to get clearance (as in, you can't be a terrorist, have a criminal record, be a scum bag/potential spy). I'm not that expectant of that but if I even get a phone call, I'd be happy. Working at an Air Force base would be awesome. I had wanted to join the military growing up but since I'm hearing impaired, that is not an option for me.

In good news, this afternoon in the span of an hour, I got two phone calls asking me to come in for interviews this week. Now I'm a lot less pessimistic about my job hunt. If I can get two phone calls (three if you count the one from a few weeks ago) about potential interviews in a month of applying, there is hope for me to get a job by the end of May.

Is it clearance for life or what? Because I can't understand why would anyone require one before you actually landing a job. Isn't it their job to clear you once you're as good as hired?

Thanks. I was inspired to make something better after looking at various threads like "show your consoles". Funny that my consoles were in the cupboard several months before that as I hardly needed them.

My Balls of Steel Edition of DNF arrived a day early. £17 not too bad I didn't expect it to be sealed either. Just wondering whether it should be opened or maybe left in the packaging. I didn't mind the game when I played it in the past but that's my opinion on the matter of the game.

Back in the day I originally wanted to get the Balls of Steel Editon, but I held off. Main reason may have been shipping costs or the delivery date, but after reading the news about the game, it was probably a good idea that I bought the standard version instead. Not to say DNF was a bad game or anything. Just that, if I'm going to blow that kind of money on a game, I'd probably save it for something such as Mass Effect 3.

One of the things I got talking about back in 2009 was when the west LRT line was finished construction (December 2012), that I was going go do some more golfing. As one of the stations is right next to a golf course. The courses opened up recently, so I was maybe thinking about checking it out.

Also been thinking about buying some clubs, but I'll probably rent to start off with.

My grandad spoke about taking me to golf once, I'd love to go at some point it's always been one of those sports that I've secretly loved to watch.

I'm no Tiger Woods. Normally with a good swing I can hit the ball around 200-225. Sometimes 250 yards if I hit the sweet spot. With custom drivers and woods, they have a bigger head and sweet spot, so you'll always get a really long drive. Putting and short game is kind of sub-par though. Probably should work on that. On most holes, I normally 3-4 putt.

I've been golfing since I was around 3-4, but I don't do it very often. Maybe only once or twice a year I'd get out to the course or driving range.

Well I'm no Kim Jong Il but I did get a hole in 2 (there's probably a golf name for that) my first time playing, but then again I'm an outstanding human being.

My computer area? It's my bed, heh. Not the best for gaming though I should really get myself a desk. My room is rather cluttered so that would be a difficult task putting a desk in. My desktop downstairs really needs an upgrade so hopefully I can get that sorted and record some decent demos.

I believe he was talking to Cathy who posted his desk above.

"Having too many job interviews is a good problem to have." Someone remind me of this later, but after running around DC to go to two job interviews (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) with tearing my pants between (and buying new ones leaving my second interview) I am exhausted. I was going to make my little bit of Jameson last until I have a job (to celebrate) but I can't...I'm drinking it tonight.

I thought eagles depended on par?

For example, on a par 6 hole you would get an eagle if you putted the ball on your fourth shot. As far as I am aware;

Eagle -2
Birdie -1
Par ==
Bogey +1
Double Bogey +2
You're crap at golf +3 (or more)

I am probably wrong, I don't have an interest in golf, I do like Happy Gilmore though and I did buy Tiger Woods PGA Tour when I was about 13, but only to make women with the GameFace feature, at least until I wore the boob slider out.
