Define "cold as shit" and "hot as fuck". We have ~60C degree diference between hottest and coldest temperatures.

Within a week we can have a difference of 30°C. There have been a couple winters where we'd be comfortable in shorts on one day then a few days later it would be snowing and freezing. We get the humidity and warm fronts off the Atlantic plus the cold fronts that have to pass through the Blue Ridge Mountains from the northwest.

Differences of 30 degrees within a week? Sounds just like where I live. I'm in Michigan.

I remember coming in the morning at work at 0C and going home at -20C. Well, I wasn't really going since I begged my boss to give me a ride because I wasn't dressed warm enough.

Yeah, but at that point it's already cold. You can adjust to it being colder if it's already cold, but I'm pretty sure last time it snowed here where I live, it was 70 degrees the day before. Temperature is relative.

having been subject to situations on several occasions where there's no "external" heating or cooling sources (i.e. no A/C, heater, fire, ice, bodies of water, electricity/appliances, etc.)
i prefer too cold over too hot. it's alot easier to find ways to stay warm than it is to try to cool off

plus when it's cold i don't mind if i have to move around or do anything. when it's too damn hot i don't want to lift a finger

the worst extremes i had to endure were -40F (-60F with wind chill) in Southern Idaho and +120F in death valley california (i would hazard to say that it was 0% humidity)
the worst one day shift i've experienced happened in manhattan, kansas. it was 65F one day and -20F the next

Whelp, I finally got around to seeing the second installment of The Matrix tonight.

Did a little digging online. Turns out I saw the third one.

Fuck you, DirecTV! Now I'll enjoy the second one even less. Take your program guide and shove it up your ass.

I want those two hours of my life back.

I want the five hours and twenty or so euros I spent on the two sequels back. Worst investment of my life.

Matrix sequels and the Star Wars prequels are the worst films I've ever seen. And I love trash cinema like Manos: The Hands of Fate.

Torgo isn't enough to make that movie entertaining. I'll even fall asleep during the MST. Speaking of Star Wars prequels, though...

Spoiler

The movies might've been terrible, but they make for some pretty bitchin' Lego sets. That's what me and the misses do on the weekends, by the way. Are we all cool and bohemian and alternative yet?

You know the crazy shit? I didn't even watch Manos on MST3K. I watched it on Elvira, she rarely interrupts during the film. I enjoyed it, and I'm pretty excited for the restoration coming up.

You know what? Why not watch a movie without commentaties then?

Does your love for trash consist of watching it on MST or Evira or whatever the fuck these tv shows are?

I watched it on Elvira because I was watching the new Elvira series. I watch plenty of trash on it's own as well. I love b-movies.

Aren't b-movies and "trash" sort of different?

Posted Image Different how? I watched B-Movies in the old fashion drive-ins (you could watch up to four movies in one night), what on earth is a trash movie then?

Trash are among the lower echelons of b-movies. I just love shitty movies like the Toxic Avenger, Street Trash, The Deadly Spawn, Basket Case, Bad Taste, Maximum Overdrive, Troll series, Ghoulies series, Zombi, Hotel Hell, Sleepaway Camp... etc.

Jackson's "A Bad Taste" is trash for example. A low budget movie that is supposed to be repulsive. Usually a horror movie.
Something like "American Ninja" is a b-movie, but not trash.

They're trash, but not necessary shitty.

In my opinion, Lord of the Rings series and King Kong are Jackson's worst work.

EDIT: They're shitty, but in a good way.

You mentioned Jackson, and we were already talking about taste in movies, so I was just being a jerk and saying that Braindead is better than Fellowship of the Ring.

Well, no shit. But I don't think they're comparable anyway.

Quote

That's why they are called "trash". Shitty is an evaluation. Trash can be shitty and not in a good way.

Btw, is your "shitty in a good way" the same as "so bad that it's good"? Cause for me, the latter phrase means that it's really shitty with the only redeeming value being is that it's so beyond shitty that's it's fun. And I don't consider "A Bad Taste" or "Zombi" as shitty in that respect.

After seeing that NUKEMDAVE Scares Children account on the newest member, how is it that someone who makes an account that obviously only has the intent to mock another member even gets validated in the first place? Isn't that why there is a validation thing?

@ CA - Ah, I don't remember the details either but there were some funny bits in it. Not quite trash, only B. Posted Image

@ Jacket - Why not message one of the admins?
