I just survived a month of my family, my girlfriend's family, and driving with her in a car halfway across the US twice (and her mom once)...I think I'm doing alright with that...now, if only I could get a job....

Hardest part for me about getting a job is that whole social/networking aspect. Most jobs are gotten through networking, and aren't advertised. However, I'm actually volunteering at my mom's work, so you can still network that way, but you don't have to do all the social aspect stuff. Just stick it out for several months, have someone notice all your good work, and I might end up with a job somewhere.

Through this place, I've learned about a government program that's being set up this year which is going to help people like me find a job.

Some people have actually volunteered themselves into getting a job. Lot easier than firing off hundreds of resumes and such. I find that is kind of like playing the lottery. Thing is when you apply to those online jobs on job boards, there's almost a hundred people wanting the same job you are. Employer only needs to hire one person.

I love this song. My mother and I listened to Brother Iz a lot when she was sick.

Have I mentioned that I'm supposed to be starting Texas A&M this semester? Because I totally am. And it's totally fucking terrifying.

Shame that Johnny Football is losing his offensive line next year. I went out of my way to watch a few A&M football games this year. He's a very talented QB.

I'm trying to find where I can buy a TiVo in australia but it's like they don't sell them anymore... very frustrating.

I'm going to be on CBC radio on Friday morning. I've never been on the radio before. They're doing some segment on people with autism and the difficulties of finding a job. Apparently, a huge number of people with autism are either unemployed or underemployed. They're trying to raise awareness for employers about this condition. So they talked to me, my mom, and someone she works with about it last week (her son also has this). I think they said that I could download the radio session on ITunes or something when it comes out.

At first I thought it was going to be a TV thing (least when my mom called me). I was so nervous about being on live TV across Canada. Luckily it was on the radio, so it's all pre-recorded and edited. Thank God.

Good luck with it Jeff. Raising awareness/educating people is always a good thing.

I doubt Gambini is going to post this on this forum so I'm going to do it for him, because it made my day Posted Image

"Zero credibility" is the phrase George is probably all too familiar with as of late.

Though I do have to wonder if that means he thinks the score is too high, or not high enough.

Either way, yeah, he got his dick kicked in pretty rightly there. BAM.

Yeah it's just a little bit frustrating that it's George's very love for games like Halo that ruined DNF Posted Image

You should say "is the phrase (that) George is probably all to familiar with"

Wow, I got put in my place. In my defense that was a typo as I was in a bit of a rush to get to uni. I usually get things like "too" and "you're" right. The important thing in this case is that he gets the syntax right.

He thinks it's not high enough.

Broussard has made similar posts in the past (on messageboards or elsewhere), showcasing his indignation over what he sees as knee-jerk elitist contempt of popular entertainment franchises.

I always thought his failure was in DNF's management, but apparently artistically he wasn't great either. How hard did he bump his head before deciding on a 2-weapon limit?

Broussard somehow became a vg industry twat without actually shipping anything useful since 2006. Really, he should become a journo now.

I ran 7km yesterday Posted Image As far as I know it's the furthest distance I've ever run in my life non-stop. I've been using the treadmill at the gym for the past 2 months, started off running 20 minutes at 6kmph then gradually worked my way up to 11kmph, often aiming for at least 3km.

But I decided to mix things up, bring the speed down to 8kmph and jog a little further, then I kept going further and further and further, until I had to stop because of blisters. It's amazing how much my fitness has improved. Took me just under an hour.

My most recent 5K time was something like 24 minutes. My mile time is around seven minutes.

My power supply (I think) is making lots of clicking noises. To solve this, I dropped $60 on a new 600 watt one (previous is 500 and I'm not sure that is enough power for what I have, which would explain the clicking maybe). I am on a tight budget so I had to do some shopping around before buying it. Usually I'd go to New Egg but on a whim I decided to check Tiger Direct and got a better deal.

I'm going to hold out until 2015 for my next upgrade. Skylake is the name of the architecture. Not much is known, but I plan on skipping Haswell. Broadwell is just a die shrink of Haswell with a few added features. Not a completely new architecture.

The Fringe series finale is on tonight. Can't wait.

Epic. I finally watched the recording today. I loved it. I think it wrapped things up nicely and was a great end to a great show.

I may have to watch the entire series through from beginning to end at some point in order to answer some questions but I suspect that the answer to one of my questions is "Leonard Nemoy retired"
