Well, in the ongoing health issues I have read up about wheat intollerences and found that the symptoms match me quite well so I have decided to have a couple of weeks eating gluten free (not cheap) - I've been missing out, the gluten free bread is absolubtely delicious. Even if I turn out not to have an intollerence (though at the end of Day 1 my stomach doesn't hurt like it has been lately) I'll be spending that bit extra every week to buy this stuff instead of regular bread.

Edit: I wonder what it means that when I wrote this first time, I used the word "breast" instead of the word "bread"

Welcome to my club! :)
Me too found out 8 years ago, that I am allergic to gluten. You are lucky that you live in UK, in my country there is almost nothing for folks allergic to gluten. Sometimes shops get some pasta from rice, corn or wheat flour with removed gluten, but that is rare occurence and they are ussually overpriced. Gluten free bread from shops is overpriced too and tastes like shit, so I bake my own in microwave oven. :) I live in capital city but we have one sole restaurant that cooks gluten free meals for whole city, that is ridiculous! Most people here dont know what allergy to gluten is. At least I get prescriptions from my gastroenterologist for which I can buy gluten free flour from pharmacy for lowered price. What is situation in UK?

You are correct. But I thought after last week I was home free... I dunno if you're making out with and fingerbanging a chick who says she wants to be your GF it's difficult to see that going wrong only a week later.

Don't worry, I'll be fine. :)

After last week's date - maybe, but you were excited before it happened and that was what some pointed out.

Anyway, at least you got some action. Unlike... no, I'd rather not. :)

Most supermarkets have a small section where you can buy gluten free food, it is more expensive. You can get it on perscription though, apparently it is supplied monthly and saves a fair amount of money. Annoyingly, I discovered that some of the food contains nuts, which I also can't eat.

Sorry to hear things have gone that way, still, it's probably better you found out quickly than end up stuck in a relationship for years where you utterly despise each other but can't find the way to leave.

I could make a 60 minute version. :)
I don't have a time limit on YouTube any more, I am not sure if that is a global thing now or something only certain people can achieve.

So, I get a 2 TB HDD for Christmas.

Eager to connect it, I dig through my collection of cables. I find a SATA data cable, but no Molex --> SATA power cable converter to connect to my old-ass Pentium 4. Reluctantly I go to Amazon.com and buy a Molex --> 2 SATA power splitter for less than two bucks.

One week later (today) I get the thing in the mail (I also ordered a component cable for my Wii, yay 480p), take out all my disk drives, format the new one, plug in the 160 GB drive I am retiring to Sneakernet duty in my enclosure, and move all the contents.

I shut down, plug my other 1.5 TB drive in, start up, and it doesn't show up. Not even in Disk Management. I shut down, thinking maybe if I switch which SATA ports the 1.5 TB and 2 TB disks are plugged into, I could make some progress. I unplug the cable from the 2 TB drive (which showed up) and look at it to see that a huge plastic flake just broke off the connector leaving it unable to stay in place.

Now thoroughly pissed, I plug in my hot glue gun to warm up. In the meantime, I boot up with just the system drive (thanks TX!) and 1.5er. Both work just fine. I ghetto glue the piece on, drink a glass of apple juice to celebrate the new year, and switch the SATA ports as I planned. The BIOS shows both drives detected, as before.

Only for the exact same bullshit to reoccur. No trace of the 1.5er with the 2er in.

I just ordered a two pack of SATA cables from Amazon for a buck, but I have no idea what causes only the 2 TB drive to register to the operating system even when the 1.5 TB drive is plugged in too.

So, Duke Nukem Red Alert Developer, has the mod made any progress in 2013 yet? Posted Image (I'm implying that your title below your avatar is a bit redundant)

Hell yes, much work has been done since then... (not, I guess I do need a new title)

But I will go back to this and look at it more in depth once we have a functioning MP.

Unlike a lot of people, I stayed home on New Years Eve. Did not party, get hammered or anything.

Hendricks, it sounds to me like you have some kind of design flaw with your SATA controller. Many of the older P4/Athlon motherboards with SATA support can be flaky. Nvidia nForce 3/4 boards being the worst. Many vintage SATA boards have standalone controllers that aren't even integrated into the chipset.

Your best bet is to order a $15 SATA card with a VIA chipset and run the 2TB off that.

I just survived a month of my family, my girlfriend's family, and driving with her in a car halfway across the US twice (and her mom once)...I think I'm doing alright with that...now, if only I could get a job....

Ahfuck. I actually have a PCI SATA board that I initially used with the 1.5TB because I didn't think my motherboard had SATA ports, then I was looking around one day and found them. I'll have to dig it out and hope it fits in a slot even with my graphic card.
