Apparently I do something in my sleep that sexually arouses spiders, because one saw fit to climb onto my neck and give me a huge fucking hickey yesterday.

For over ten years I've always thought that the Paladin in Diablo 2 was white... until today. After all those years I've been utterly fooling myself. <_<

I'm no expert but I feel like a hickey from a spider is a really really bad thing. As in, it isn't a hickey so much as a death bringing bite. Nice knowing you...

Fringe has been renewed for one final season. Only 13 episodes though.

Why haven't you seen a doctor?

There's talk of me moving to a different place. Seems downtown isn't as safe as other parts of Calgary. Too many homeless people and drug dealers.

Barring an allergic reaction (I have none) it's pretty rare to be killed by a spider bite, regardless of where the bite is, and even if it's by something like a black widow, which I'm pretty sure wasn't in this case. I was more annoyed by where it was because I couldn't hide it, but far as bites go, it hasn't been all that bad. The swelling's already going down, there's no itch or irritation, etc. When I was a kid, I got bit by an orb weaver (banana spiders, we called 'em). Now that sucked. I think I'd rather be bit by a black widow; at least their venom doesn't have a freakin' necrosis that makes your skin itch like crazy before rotting off.

I once saw a spider that was too big for my liking and instead of killing him, I put him in a jar and drove off 10km to walk my dog where I released him into someone elses area so he's their problem now. I know its an odd thing to do but I don't like killing interesting creatures.

Luckily in the UK the most threatening spiders we have are the few that hunt woodlouse - Dysderidae - they can bite you, but no study has ever been done on the venom to my knowledge because the worst that happens is a mild itching, I have a woodlouse problem so I rather like the large one of these that lives in my back doorstep - they are rather aggressive though, they are one of the only spiders I have seen charge at and attack humans without being provoked, most spiders will only bite you if you pick them up forcefully and then close your hand over them and you can't really blame it for biting you if you do that.

Probably one of our most toxic spiders are False Widow but you don't really need any amount of medical treatment for it, I have counted six rather convincing ones living in my house and just leave them to their own devices, they make great pest control and tend to frighten people that don't like spiders every time they come to visit.

The largest spider in the UK is the Fen Raft spider, you'd probably never see one as they are rare and protected by law, they live in wet land, can kill tadpoles and sticklebacks and I don't believe they are dangerous to people in any way, recently they attempted to re-introduce them.

You can probably tell I like spiders, I've been bitten today but I didn't see the spider that did it, can't blame him really, I moved a load of boxes that he was probably hiding in. I would never kill a spider.

While I am here, is anybody well schooled in recovering corrupt .MOV (H264) files? One of my cameras has shat itself and corrupted the file it was recording.

I had some luck at converting a broke video into a new format which made it read using an older version of Any Video Converter
The newer versions have some bloatware crap in them last time I checked, so I don't use the newest version.

Try playing it with FFplay and converting if necessary with FFmpeg.

I had to laugh when I read some of the reactions to that article you linked. "Why! For the love of god why!" He He, nobody wants that beast reintroduced in the UK. My girlfriends sister used to jump around trying to take off her clothes if you told her there was a spider on her, very amusing but she doesn't do that anymore unfortunately, she copped on.

I just walked home through the most severe downpour of a thunderstorm to the tune of storm sirens and even got hit by some ~1cm hail. I'm soaked from head to toe. YOLO

I agree. From the recent Tomb Raider games I would say Underworld is the best one. Not saying it doesn't have issues but it's a great game IMO.

It would be funny if everyone checked back on Yatta's posts and gave him minus rep until it ended up at 666, you know, because hes evil.

Edit: (or else I could get banned for abusing the rep system)

After psycho behaviour from her side for months, I can finally say I have an ex-GF. I tried to be tolerant and lenient but after another argument today I figured enough was enough. I stopped arguing or caring and then it kindof escalated from there. From her side, mostly. I just did absolutely fucking nothing while she was going insane - texting me, making angry calls and then changing her FB status (cause that's how you show it's serious in 2012 I guess).

At first I felt pretty bad, but now I'm watching Office Space and feeling relaxed in the same way Peter is in that movie.

TL;DR: broke up with gf, her loss

I've never had a girlfriend. Not sure if it's odd for someone who's 28 to have not dated in their life.

I've had one relationship so far and I'm nearly 20. It was fun, we both enjoyed it, but I felt that we just weren't clicking by the end of it. When I look back, I realise that there was a good deal of work involved with it; my free time was considerably less, I felt that there were certain expectations that I felt I couldn't meet, it just seemed like more work than fun. I do hope to have another relationship at some point in time, as cliche as it is I don't fancy dying alone, but for the forseeable future I like having my 'Me time' to do with what I want.

I've only had one so far, and every moment was worth it. I started dating my girlfriend at the age of 19. It got serious pretty quickly. My relationship lasted officially for about sixteenth months. It ended because we both had to prepare to go our separate ways, as she wasn't feeling very happy about doing a long-distance relationship (her ex was in the Army and served in Iraq, basically came back from it a shambling mess). Even though we called ourselves single, we still unofficially "saw each other" up until about a few days ago, when she went back to Miami. We both happily agreed to it, and basically ended on the highest note that we could have short of getting engaged. Maybe something will change down the line.

Fucking shit. Apparently it's too much to ask to go to Germany for four months without any of my friends committing suicide. RIP.

edit: and now my ex called me cause she wanted me back... I wish things could be the way they used to be but deep down inside I know it wouldn't last.. Keeping a stiff upper lip in this context is one of the hardest things I've ever done I think...

Nice use of the word troglodyte there, not really a word that can used too many ways.

Well, just don't embezzle large amounts of money, and you should be okay. In other news, I stumbled on this unfortunate little guy, splayed out on the concrete in front of my job the other day...

The front of my store is like a general disaster area for birds. If the adults aren't smacking into the glass at terminal velocity, the little ones are constantly falling off of trees, ledges, etc. Typically they die on impact when that happens, but this one was somehow alive (though it was pretty obvious he wouldn't make it) and when I found him he was trying to slink away from some in-bound ants. So, I scooped him up in that shirt there, and took him upstairs. Couldn't do much to help him, but at least he could die in some small semblance of peace.
