He also owns an automatic vacuum cleaner for the smallest room in the world.

He/she must have a sister playing Puppenstube? Not sure which vacuumcleaner he's got. Here is one from olden days , and it works with your diligent imagination :D

Hey, if Google didn't do a doodle, it doesn't count. :D

It is also Lincoln's birthday (to the year, actually, of Darwin) and my dad's birthday (not to the year of Darwin).

"how to turn my printer online"

What does that even mean? Network it? Remote power-on? Enabling it from an offline (non-functional) status?

No Duke of Earl in the suggestions? These people obviously haven't heard of proper music, Gene Chandler is awesome!

Older printers had to be put "Online" before they would work, usually, there was a big green button labelled "Online" - the feature was useful if you had multiple printers daisy-chained onto the same parallel port as you could off-line one once it had buffered the document and then on-line another and send it a different document... Unless you were streaming, in which case off-lining the printer would pause or stop the printing, usually, they had to be offline to change settings as you had to change the settings with the printer's control panel and not the software on your workstation.

ReaperMan wow! You are so cute! Posted Image

So, I planed to fire up Editart today, to assert the special pink colour in tiles to get the invisibility for some tiles. First thing that came to mind was Dosbox. For some reason only known to Dosbox it will not pick up keys : and / . Trying to map the keys was fun indeed. Clever as I was I searched Google. Reason: something is wrong with HP laptops. Ah ha, I thought, no way I disassemble the current driver, they work just fine. I took the next best thing Vmware and the original legal CD of Windows 95. Vmware says "Install OS as you normally would do" How? You can not load the OS without giving it a partition etc. Now I'll try the Oracle and a not so legal version of the original Windows 3.11. but I forgot how this was installed ... and it's time to eat. I forgot the clock of Windows 3.11 . I looked for hours at it just to follow the Second hand and wondered how they did it.

Edit: You still use windows 3.11 Hank? That was my first computer from when I was like 3 years old. I remember playind DN2 on it Posted Image It's been sitting in the shed for the past 8 years or so and it can get very hot in summer so I hope it still works.

Not really. I'm just going to use Editart for a while. That program does not work in Windows 7. So I started out with the Dosbox emulator and have it finally working with Oracel's VirtualBox with Windows 3.11 . - When I started up Windows 3.11 and saw that clock again, it reminded me how I got into programming to begin with. This little clock ticking, and I wondered how the hell did they do that. - So even if your comp stops working, this VirtualBox is very good. I used it only it to test Apache type server, but it also works for the original DOS/MS-DOS and Windows 3.11.

I don't recall where I said I'd be going to Germany for 4 months, but that's where I am now. Nice place. My parents just left back for Belgium and I won't see them again until April :D
