I've had a hard time cutting out caffeine. Been drinking Pepsi since I was around 8 or so.

Caffeine's not really bad for ya. It's all the sugar and fake shit in the soda that's bad for ya. If you're worried about all that mess, go on to black coffee (or with just two teaspoons of sugar and maybe some milk) and ya get your caffeine fix without any of the shit.

Too much caffeine can really fuck up your heart though, so you got to be careful with it. I don't drink energy drinks, because of how much caffeine is in them.

I tried coffee once. Ewww.

I am trying to find something to replace the Pepsi with because I don't want to be someone wearing dentures in 10 years. Water doesn't really taste like anything, although it is good for you. I guess I'd like something that has some flavor to it that won't mess up your health.

Hey did you hear of that guy with the Pepsi challenge and the Harrier jet (VTOL, or can land and take off vertically), not sure if that was a joke or whether he actually had 7 billion Pepsi points.

That was ages ago. The guy sued and won. Pepsi Co had to give him a Harrier Jet. They obviously removed all the armaments.

I wash down caffeine pills with Amp and Monster, and then I wash THAT down with a 6 pack of Jolt. I don't give a shit. Several hundred mg of caffeine at once probably isn't great for me but I don't plan on living forever!

He actually lost that case. PepsiCo never had to give him a Harrier.

Knew this guy who drank Coke a lot. He died of esophagael cancer at age 50 or something. Wouldn't want that happening to me.

Why did I hear that he actually got a harrier out of that? However, I'm pretty sure that if the commercial said outright that 7,000,000 points would get a harrier, he had a case.

Did coke cause the cancer?

Dentist told me juice still has sugar in it. Whether it's real sugar or fruit sugar.

You don't life coffee!? My goodness. Hmm, maybe you tried Starbucks or some shit like that? That shit sucks. Though, I do say getting a good cup is rather hard. You could always try tea. AriZona sells some really good stuff, green tea, sweet tea, raspberry tea, etc. Some of them have quite a bit of sugar, but I dunno what to tell ya. Getting around sugar is difficult since the only drinks I can think of with no sugar and caffeine is coffee and tea.

The research into that is rather questionable, but that's only if you enter caffeine intoxication, which most people don't even get close to. (Though I have on numerous occasions, close to overdose actually.) While sometimes it raises your heart rate, it'll also increases efficiency. So it's effects on your heart aren't really much overall. Also, I'd say caffeine is the least harmful ingredient in energy drinks, it's all that other weird shit in there. Drinking five or six cups of black coffee ain't bad for ya, in fact, it's good for ya. Just reading there, I am convinced my abuse of caffeine kept me out of diabetes. I have never eaten right or exercised or anything (though I'm changing that) and I never got Type 2, even though most of my family was worried I probably would.

Like I said, it ain't the caffeine that's killing you. But yeah, it's great for getting shit done. A lot of research shows that people who work out or weight lift get 15-25% more done having used caffeine before hand. Caffeine tricks the mind into thinking it can do more than it usually thinks.

I had a few sips of coffee with milk and sugar from one of my parents when I was around 16 or so. Maybe it'll taste different now that I'm 28. They say your tastebuds mature as you get older.

I have had Starbucks before, but only a strawberries and cream frapuccino.

I don't know i have a friend that drank 2-3 really caffeinated energy drinks a day since he was 15 and now he has a hole in his heart. Also caffeine only increases efficiency for a short period after that you either crash or drink more caffeine.

True, coffee and also be the differance between working out or not working out, sometimes I cant bring myself to face the weights but a strong cup of coffee usually sorts that out but you have to wait for your body to cool down a bit as you sweat way more if you go for it straight after, which can be annoying when you are just at the start of you routine. I need it wake up too, I just dont feel right unless I have had my fix in the morning. Any more than 3 or 4 cups and I start to feel weird and wired and even paranoid so I limit how much I have, though when I worked as a chef doing 14 hour shifts it was a life saver, couldnt get by without it.

God damn lightning strike blew up my phone line last night and I've had nothing for service all day. Nothing but static on the line, not even a dial tone, have no idea how the modem occasionally manages to sync (it's DSL out in the middle of nowhere)... seems like the strike must have either fried the filter in the demarcation point outside my house or something further up the line. :(

Ugh!

~39 ms to Google for the packets that actually make it through. My line sure is fucked... modem has been synced up for a while now but there's still no dial tone or anything like that.

We had a lightning strike take out our power and cable internet a few years back. It hit the house and the underground vault, taking out the whole block. LIPA had to connect a mobile generator to our street for two days while everything was being repaired.

You know whats fucked up? It didn't hit the DirecTV dish. You know what's even more fucked up? We live on top of a hill and have the satellite dish roof mounted on a tripod so it can clear the trees and get a signal.

Fuckin' lightning, how does that work?

Modified the Mass Effect 2 nuke gun to use 1 ammo per shot and do 1 billion damage. So instead of requiring 100 ammo to fire, it only requires one.

Nuke Gun? I don't remember that one...After I beat Fable 3 (and leave behind my 3rd play of Dragon Age: Origin)I might have to go back and beat that game again...but I don't have time to play games anymore (and I actually haven't been playing much either).

Man, my life sucks.

I've been drinking coffee since I was about 15, I used to hate the taste too. Then I got to a point where I only drank it with tons of sugar. Now I can drink a whole pot of black if I wanted to.
Also, that ain't coffee, that's sugar-water-redstuff. :( I hate Starbucks. Lame-o hipster stuff, if ya asked for a cup of black coffee they'd shit their pants and have no idea what to do. Either way, I recommend getting coffee from a friend who knows your tastes a little bit more and have them get ya into it.

There are no studies that can correlate caffeine usage and holes in the heart. I think you can chalk it up to your friend just being unlucky or unhealthy (since energy drinks are terrible for you and anyone who drinks them probably makes some of the absolute worst health decisions imaginable.) Also, I never crash after using caffeine, and most other people don't either. The crash comes from the sugar high. Either way, after becoming a 'user' if you will, most of the side effects of caffeine no longer arise, except for withdrawals (which are manageable.)

I love the paranoid feeling. Every once in a while I'll just binge out and drink two liters of mountain dew, whole pots of coffee, etc all day.
