I would like to buy it, but I don't know if I can squeeze in 202 episodes of it anytime soon. Hopefully it gets the proper treatment it deserves though, as a lot of fans will be upset after all this time if it doesn't.

You won't have to. The option is there to buy individual seasons or the whole thing. Although I've heard buying them individually will be cheaper.

Unfortunately some stuff is upscaled, but some effect shots are new. It had a lot of practical effects (explosions, worms, vampire eyes) which were done on film, but some stuff like stock shots, transitions is upscaled. I ran a program a few years ago which analyzes each frame and it came out to be around 2-3 minutes of upscaled stuff throughout the series. Season 6 was 96% film as I recall. Not a lot of CGI effects there. The first season was around 91% or so.

I had a talk to someone about this, and he said it was impossible to see that far ahead into the future regarding having everything including effects on 4K back in 1993. Widescreen didn't even exist, but they knew it was coming in a few years.

Although from what I was told this Blu-ray is a 2K scan (2048x1080), not a 4K scan of the film.

If the movies are any indication, the audio tracks should be DTS HD-MA 5.1 surround sound @ 1536kbps bitrate for each episode. The DVDs are currently Dolby Digital 2.0 @ 192 kbps.

24 was also remastered the same way X-Files was recently, so that should also be released on Blu-ray soon as well (for seasons 1-6, 7-8 & LAD are already on Blu-ray). If this is any indication I don't know what is. I found that picture on Fox's twitter account.

Devil Daggers is the best looking game I've seen in a few years, absolutely stunning visuals.

I was thinking of making some kind of thread but then I don't always find FPS stuff and I'd probably flood that thread with way too many games compared to here and it would be harder to discuss stuff. I could make separate threads but there isn't much info about that game for now.

When I was a teenager, I modified a GeForce 3 to say "GRARRR I EAT BABIES!" during POST. This reminds me of that.

Back in the day, 2001-2002 3DR was recommending a GeForce 3 to run DNF.

It was pretty cool watching the Doom 3 2001 demo on it . And the 2003 Doom 3 leak made a GeForce Ti4600 choke. You had to have the top of the line Radeon 9700 Pro to run it decently.

Good times.

But wait, are you suggesting that an ATI card back in the day could run Doom 3 better than an Nvidia card could?

Was coming to link this here but looks like you got here first (as usual).

His fire-fighting skills are pretty nonexistent, wouldn't want to be his neighbour.

I still have this PM George sent me ages ago.

When DNF came out I think I was running a GTX 570.

Ouch. That message is from 2003 and a 9800 card is what I'm running now.

The Radeon 9700 was better than anything else when it came out. The GForce Ti 4600 was the king until the 9700 dethroned it. Later, Nvidia came out with a line of cards as loud as vacuum cleaners. It was an interesting era because ATI was at the top for a while.

Now that's a fun bit of trivia. I miss looking forward to DNF.

How are you still running a 9800? Even dedicated video on a barebones machine would be better these days.

I remember having a Radeon 9000 Pro back in the day. The 9500 and 9700 Pro were the first cards to require an external power connection.

Yatta: Earlier this year I was going to replace my old Nvidia 9800 but I found out I would need a power supply upgrade too so I decided to live with what I have until I get a whole new system. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to go and put one together these days so here I sit. :)

Looks to me like its implying that Isreal and U.S. are the force behind creating ISIS because of our evil societies.

I had though ISIL just kinda popped up in Iraq when the US withdrew. Something about the Kurds not truly being in charge, then a general left the front and the rest of the Iraqi soldiers followed.
