who's contesting ownership and why now after you've been living there for awhile?

So... now we potentially face eviction with nowhere else to go currently. Who knows what we're going to do now.

if he gets executor privileges doesn't he still have to provide accountability for distribution of assets?
in either case there's no way he should get it all.
i think if he wants the house and your wife wants the house and there are no other equal assets to be distributed the house has to go up for sale and part of the profits have to go to your wife.

well when/if the place sells your wife should get a share in the profits which hopefully will be enough offset any inconvenience
no idea what the market is like there, but if you could put about $10 to $20k out of the sale as a down payment on a $120k house - your monthly mortgage should be mid $800s to Low $900s (which is alot lower than rent for the amount space you'd be getting)
that monthly payment will drop after about five years 'cause you'll have paid into enough so they drop the loan insurance
the numbers may vary depending on several factors - market, location, financial institute, amount of the house loan, credit score, etc.

Put them in the back of the cabinets. Fine China? Smells like vagina!
Dishwater heating coils? More like feces being boiled!
Light fixture? Shit fell out, just missed her!
Back of the closet? Fine fur coat, your shit just pozzed it!
Seriously though, I would buy like 30 Orange Baboon Tarantulas and just release them all in the house before he leaves. They've got the nickname "Orange Bitey Things" and their bites are EXCRUCIATINGLY painful. Throw in a few Scolopendra subspinipes centipedes for good measure - most painful bite out of any bug like creature. Up to eight inches long and mega aggressive, they'll make a grown man shit himself...in the ambulance on the way to the ER!
Don't worry. None of them are lethal. Just very, very, very, very painful.

My reaction to both of you;

But seriously, I had to clean out a house that had been shitted up last summer. Lazy ni... uhh... you-know-who's refused to pay their bills and got evicted from their house. So before they left they never cleaned anything up for a week and left shitty baby diapers every where. After that job I had to throw away my shoes. Fucking horrid shit.

God I wish I could find a clip of the last ten seconds of this episode.

Dude... we have to move home to CA. I need closer to a down payment on a $250-300k house AND to find someone who is insane enough to either co-sign or take out the entire mortgage in their name. It's going to be a struggle for sure.

why?
it's bad enough i live in washington state, which is basically northern california, but you couldn't pay me enough to move near redding or anywhere south of it.
i hear Bismark has a booming tech industry. i'd rather put up with cold, crappy winters than a bunch of self absorbed pretentious assholes.

CA is where all of our family is, and going somewhere without any friends or family to act as a support network would be a real bad idea right now. If we're in CA, even if shit hits the fan even more than it already has I can figure out a solution based on that.

makes sense, but only because of certain health issues.
you should start networking now so you have a job when you get to where you're going. be a little more comforting for you and your family if you knew you were going to hit the ground running

The only jobs I get are under the table grey area shit because of my brain injury. I've got some stuff I can vaguely achieve at lined up but it's pretty scary regardless.
In the latest episode of the compounding clusterfuck that is my life, my power got turned off at 8 this morning. I got it turned back on but they wanted the ENTIRE balance plus a reconnection fee. Ugh.
