As a yearly tradition since I was around 21 or so, we go to this fancy place that has probably the best prime rib in town. Melts in your mouth like butter.
Now I'm hungry.

So with the 2K Steam sales on I noticed something interesting. Borderlands' price was raised in Australia for some reason in June...

2K games are always a rip off on Steam for Australia and New Zealand.
I always buy any 2K game retail as it's much cheaper.

Does Australia have some weird tax for digital products?
Amazon is able to sell things cheaply in the US because if they don't have a distributor in your state, you don't pay taxes on things bought online. I think I remember someone trying to change that but since Congress can't get anything done, I'm not sure it ever took effect.

You're trying to find the music IN a porno? Why?
If you still want to know. Even though this discussion is moot, I want to point out that purposefully searching for new music doesn't work. You learn about new bands and artists and composers by randomly encountering stuff other people link, usually on the internet.

Yeah I don't understand what you mean, Daedolon. I search for music that's new to me all the time. But I'm a huge music buff so that just comes with the territory.

You can't force yourself into finding new gems, you must take it as is. Browsing through some record stores and grabbing an album or two by the looks of the cover art at most. That's how I've found all the 1000+ artists (according to last.fm, mind you) I listen to.

Cleaned out 4 suitcases full of junk out of my closet. I just put all the stuff in the suitcase and hauled it downstairs to the garbage room. Maybe next week I'll recycle that old inkjet printer and computer I have. Don't need it anymore since I have a laser printer as well as a new computer (not really new, I built it in 2011). It's new compared to the one I'm recycling, which is from 2004 or so. There's another one I have from 2006 that I was going to get rid of as well. I went with laser because I hardly print anything and toner is dry, versus if you don't print very often, the ink dries up and then you have to buy new cartridges, which can be extremely expensive. I didn't buy the inkjet printer, someone gave it to me.

I had that ink drying out problem on many cartridges too from lack of use. Eventually the printer head dried out so that even my new cartridges didn't work. I threw that printer into the local dump about 5 years ago and haven't bought a new one yet. About the only thing I would like a printer for these days is to print out Mapster and CON coding tutorials. Other than that I still don't feel the need for a printer like the old days.

I wanted to use a Wiki for Duke Nukem. The problem is that the only one out there is hosted at Wikia which kinda of sucks.

Funeral day today:

Another flight simulator I was going to mention has the opportunity of taking over FSX is XPlane 10. Unlike that Prepar3D simulator, XPlane is full 64-bit compatible as well as OpenGL 4.3 (DirectX 11.1 equivalent), while Prepar3D is still 32-bit and bound by the 4 GB VAS limit. With XPlane 10, I can use up to 16 EB (exabytes) of RAM. Only issue is my add-ons don't with this out of the box, but you can convert them to the XPlane format. OpenGL is said to render faster than DirectX.

You better move that toolbox out of the way before you stub your toe on it in the dark.

In case anyone was wondering what happened to people who made Geocities pages...they make e-cards for birthdays now.
#10529 Posted 10 October 2013 - 07:31 AM
I remember having a Geocities page back in the day. Can't remember what I made the site about though. I don't really make web pages anymore. Kind of lost interest.
#10530 Posted 10 October 2013 - 08:04 AM
It still upsets me to know Geocities was taken down for no reason
