Future EDuke32 versions could/should choose the HRP style automatically based on the Polymer renderer checkbox value in the startup window.
As for the term various: Only the override pack is what's really needed. All other Polymost downloads are for convenience reasons to save the Polymost-only downloaders some hundred megs. They should be removed from the canonical HRP download page once the next full HRP release is ready.

SVN stuff is meant for maintainers/developers although it's usable.

I just tried using my 312 SVN dump and got a face full of classic (not the question, getting to that). Normally this means I've done something stupid like compressed the archive (edit: or ran zip from one level above the staging directory so that gets included in the archive. *headdesk*) so I went to dump the SVN again (because I svn export the tree in order to build an archive and then delete the exported copy after I archive it. I could have just exported again, but it seemed better to check for updates while I was there) and noticed you now have 315 up there with a proper polymost def. My question is: could I put that def in a separate file (itself called polymost_hrp_override or whatever is needed to get it after polymer_hrp alphabetically) and have it work without needing the command line switch? The reason I ask is because I intend on using this on my Mac and I don't really like the idea of setting up a wrapper script to pass command line parameters on to the Mac binaries.

Do not download these unless you know how to pull an according HRP version from the HRP subversion repository.
Do not ask questions. Do not complain about outdated or missing downloads.

Don't expect any fixes/updates for some more weeks until I've sorted out all that shit.
It's annoying that I've been unable to follow and answer to the repository structure discussion in the main HRP thread. Some bad blood and hundreds of MB repo download could have been avoided. Sorry for that.

Polymost HRP 4.0 will be obsolete anyway as soon as a new full Polymer/Polymost HRP is released.

Polymost HRP Override/Update Pack 5.1.374-375 :
> Polymost HRP is back in the Subversion repository
- run "install/hrp_extract.sh polymost" (under Linux/MinGW)
to extract a Polymost-only version
- run "install/hrp_extract.sh polymost_override" (under Linux/MinGW)
to create a Polymost Override pack for the full HRP
(But prefer a downloadable version from page #1 of "my" thread if it exists)
> Added:
- Most non-Polymer stuff from the HRP Subversion repository rev.374
(1656-1659, 4288_d, 4387, paper_crumpled)
> Updated
- added "_polymost" to more DEF files' names
- "_polymost" folders for Polymer HRP compatibility
- maphacks generated automatically by hrp_extract.sh
- 0152-0156/0159 Polymer textures backported by Roma Loom
- 0317/0318/0322/0328/0354/0367-0369/0371 backported by Roma Loom
- some newer / PNG-optimized textures from Polymer repository
- pal 11_22 for 0251/0252
- Add forgotten 4400_bear_24.png to props.def
- Fix line feeds of characters.def and ice.def
- Add line feeds at the end of DEFs
- grass textures "downdated" again
> Removed
- unused textures
Z-Pack 5.1.374-375 :
0448, 0814, 0823, 4889
enable 4379, 4381-4385
0156, 159 (Polymost only)
bluefont, smallfont
remove temporary Polymer patches
Duke DC : 2493_dc.png (because I can)
fix some warnings when loading DukePlus
Note that I have renamed polymost_hrp to hrp_polymost. You might need to rename files in your autoload folder. I hope that this naming style will be adopted by the full/Polymer HRP, too, so that there will be less issues with the autoload order.
EDIT: Download links removed. Get r5.1.407 from the bleeding edge section in post#1 instead.

concerning the textures 0152/0153 you have backported to Polymost:
Did you put the glowmaps into them, too? (That's what it looks like), or do they have to be defined in textures_polymost.def?

crap, I have completely forgotten about them. I guess I'll put them there later.

Put an extra highlight on Polymer lighting, find missing HRP textures, or just retro-play the completely desaturated Polymost version.
Check out post#1 of this thread.

OK, post them here and I'll take care of that. There have been two conflicts like that back then. I solved them by renaming the Polymer glowmaps to *_d_g.png. Not so nice but I'm still somewhat biased against a textures_polymost folder.

In case you encounter these messed up akimbo pistols when combining DukePlus/Polymost HRP, get r406 from the bleeding edge section.
#109 Posted 02 August 2012 - 02:44 AM
tint { pal 0 r 255 g 255 b 255 flags 1 }
would have done the trick too, although the particular way EDuke32 carries out the desaturation may not be the visually most appealing.

Please help me hunting down that issue by providing more information:
-Which versions of EDuke32, HRP and Z-Pack are you using?
-Post your eduke32.log as attachment.
-Save your game when the error occurs and attach the zipped dukesav*.esv file.

However, your Duke installation seems to be in a bad state:
-DUKE3D.grp.GRP ?
-The Version numbers of Polymost HRP and Z-Pack must match. (Maybe that's the reason why you don't see any gloves)
-skyboxes_polymost.def should not have 170 lines (and no error)
-There's some broken DukeDC HRP stuff hanging around
Better do a clean install and use a current eduke32.exe which will give better information in the log file.
#114 Posted 05 November 2012 - 02:28 PM
Note that you need both the Z-Pack and the Polymost HRP update.
autoload contents are loaded alphabetically - you might have to rename ZIPs.
You do no longer have to copy stuff from the Z-Pack into your attrition/DukePlus folder. Just extract and use attrition-z.bat or dukeplus-z.bat from the Z-Pack's ZIP. I recommend to scrap your previous Z-Pack-patched attrition/DukePlus folders and reinstall their vanilla downloads.

Both the Z-Pack 5.1.411 and the Polymost Override Pack 5.1.411 in the "Bleeding Edge" section in post#1 of this thread are compatible to HRP 5.2. People may use them for the time being until I've managed to create and upload new "official" versions.

Isn't 5.2 already Polymost compatible?:

The Override Pack is now 2MiB only.
Depending on that last version you've used, nothing much or a damn lot has happened in the Z-Pack.
Override Pack attached.
Download links at post#1.
NighFright: Regarding file naming conventions: please consider duke3d_hrp_update.zip instead of duke3d_update.zip or the next Override Pack's name might get even uglier.
