Unity Problem

I first found out about Unity like a few months ago. I decided to pick it up and try it. I figured that since I'm learning I'd try a re-creation of Holywood Holocaust from Duke using the HRP models and stuff just to learn how to use Unity on a basic level. I started working on the rooftop, the problem I'm having is this:

I'm not sure what it's called, but the thing in the middle, I've been able to create the triangular arch, but I don't know how to fill it, would I be better off trying to create a model instead?

Just to make sure I'm clear, I don't plan on using this at all, I'm just doing this to learn, and have no plan to release anything, which I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to do, if not point out otherwise.

Unity is nice at putting models together and making a game out of it.
The angled section can be filled it, but it is easier if you insert a model with the shape and the ends already covered.

I'm getting a link to the software I used to create basic shapes and convert 3d formats into Unity compatible.

I'll add the link in a bit.

Here -

use this to create primitive objects, convert models into lwo format - Unity can use them easily.

How good is this engine???sweet ass trailer! powered by unity3d!
This Dec - sweet game!
PS - the editor is as easy or easier to use than mapster32 - once you get used to the object management system

and community driven - this is exactly what type of project I had in mind - dam - got beaten to punch

My project - still in works just non-duke

You need to code in C# - I never used C#, how do you manage, do you get limits? Also, does it fully support OpenGL or am I stuck with DirectX. :(

I don't know whether or not it supports OpenGL or DirectX or whatnot, but I do know that you can program in C#, JavaScript or Boo Script, not just C#. C++ and C# are very similar, and I think that you said you programmed in C++ before. Anyway Unity is awesome regardless.

Unity can use c#, java and its internal scripting (similar to c#)
Directx or opengl, depends on if you are using mac/pc/linux
Check out the publish as formats

Added some basic models for you, they import into unity easily, just copy into the assets folder of your project and let unity detect them

I'm surprised it doesn't support Lua like everything else these days...

What type of models does Unity support? I thought it only supported fbx files, but your models prove otherwise as they are .obj. I tried converting a model, it still is one frame for obj files. So far the only three I've been able to convert between are .mm3d, .md3, and .md2.

Ah. Good to know. I checked their forums, and there is no hope for my True Space models, for a direct import, that is. But the map utility works like smooth. :(
I got your model samples. I will tinker with those, don't worry, I'll won't steal. :(

I have yet to find a good md3-md5 converter that doesn't stop at a single frame.
Besides poking away at a few maps, every now and then I add extra animations to the models in blender.
For now I use the single frame a a reference model in my maps. Size/placement/etc...

off topic - but dam this year's gonna be a tough call.

Interstellar Marines is amazing, but my vote is going to Bucket of Blood, it just too dam much fun.
