Dukematch with bots?  "Possible or yet not possible?"

Well, I really want play dukematch even if bots or not,but playing with real players isn't really much an option, because yang servers are always empty or password secured for private matches...
So, for now we have complicated bots for co-op coded by DeeperThought, why just simple dukematch bots to fight with? If this really is possible right now, then please tell me what to do in order to play dukematch with bots. If not, then please take this thread as an suggestion for future versions of eduke32.

I remember original Duke3D has fake AIs...
I was play with them, that has some fun. :)

But looks like the -q# parameter does nothing now?

I try using "eduke32 -l1 -v1 -q4 -a -m -tx -server" to launch the game but I don't found any AI appeared...
Are they removed or bugged or somethings?



EDIT : I found the console cheat(god/noclip etc.) still working when I launch the game with the parameters, and it looks like not really a MP game... somethings may went wrong?

Yeah I tried with -q# parameters earlier but won't give a call...

Yeah I think we have that. Check out this page here: http://wiki.eduke32....nd_line_options and look for the fake muiltiplayer thing 5 lines from the bottom. You can get this running with a batch file or adding it onto the end of the target in an eduke32 shortcut properties window.

You know it's funny, I rarely go on YANG, but the last time I did it was merely to enter a chatroom about making levels with no intention of dukematching, then I ended up playing a game anyway :)
And the chatroom was empty when I entered it, so I don't know the luck you've been having lately :)

Edit: What the... 2 replies in the time I was typing? ok I'm going to sleep...

Edit 2: Scratch that, I'm sure YANG has a fake dukematch option under the 'Action' menu.

You know, mappers and DukeMatchers are VERY different, I am always around both and chances are none of you guys have heard of them. A good site to see is this. Check out the current players (My name is Laptop).

They need to convert en masse to EDuke32.

I played xDuke online once, and I got owned epically :) the mouse control felt different and it certainly didn't help that the colours were messed up (but that was probably a one off thing)

You can use Dukematch bots when you start up a fake multiplayer match in YANG.

Eduke32 is not good online, everyone agrees, that is why everyone uses Xduke, it just uses the simple command line and it gets done but for some reason Eduke32 always never workes. Over the weekend at our camp grounds I had a serial cable to laptop to laptop and I used DukePlus, even directley connecting is messy because it went from error to error, Xduke has never failed us. There is also the new Hduke out, which includes Team Dukematch.

Thanks,now I can play dukematch, but I came up with an idea... If Duke Nukem 3D kept inside fake mp bots from the beginning, so now I ask : Is it possible to play Bloodbath (Blood - Deathmatch) with fake mp bots?

I tried using bots via yang, I also tried q- parameter but bots dont work. They dont even appear on map. But the strange fact is that I also tried sob-bot (old dos based bot mod for original dos duke) with eduke32 (I just renamed eduke32.exe to duke3d.exe). Bots appeared on map but they didnt move, shoot or do anything. So A.I. was inactive.
BTW Duke 3d port Duke3dw has working bots.

Question for eduke32 developers:
Does eduke32 include fuctional code for bot A.I.?
If it does, then please explain me how to start game with bots.

It probably got broken when TX rewrote the networking code.

r1551 is the last revision to have the old code.

The bots sucked anyway, they always knew where you where at.
