And it's funny to call the map "crap" or "shitty".
The level is not the best one, yes. But if you would want play it, you probably would want to to play the entire Duke for Saturn.

I think so too.
I also wasn't aware how advanced the lighting was for that port, impressive stuff.

well there is your answer
a saturn is required to run polymer
actually doing some reading up on it, it was ported to the slavedriver engine, looks like it had "sky light" you could define with direction which is pretty amazing given its age.
and yes that level looks fucking terrible, its like a really badly done version of the citadel in hl2

This map is not that bad, but it gives me feel like it's a 1996-1997 usermap.
Good idea for a world of toilet, but this design isn't good.
But I'm glad they were not f***ed it up with bad texture alignment...
Saturn version of DN3D has good framerates but not good for looking.
Yeah, I know it has some awesome effects(like lighting), but others just sucks.
I feel Playstation version is better, but it's loadtime too long...
Just my opinion.

IIRC it only had Vertical Doom style doors too right?

There's some neat little effects and concepts in the map, for example the giant toilet (much to my shame, I have built something like this in the DooM engine), the crane-and-forcefields puzzle, and the... wall of flickering switches. The last one bewilders me most of all. I wonder how hard this would be to make in a PC iteration.
But yeah, beyond that, the map is ugly as hell.

lol, that has got to be the most ridiculous looking map I've ever seen, in a good way (yes, I like seeing strange levels like this. After all, this is coming from someone who played Mock 2: The Speed of Stupid for Doom 2).

It's more likely than Urea 51 being ported. Duke Nukem Total Meltdown at least uses the build engine.

Ugly map, the only interesting thing was the last part, which was disgusting, but at least not as ugly.
