I'm thinking of getting another hard drive because my current 80 GB one is almost completely full. Does anyone know if it would be possible to get another drive, put it in the extra Hard Drive bay, configure it, and then move some games over onto it? Can you install games onto a hard drive that has no operating system on it, or do they have to be under program files in drive c: to run ?

Yes, you can install most games onto a different HDD than the OS is on (think the only game I have on my C: drive is Duke, and that's because it's small. As for copying your game and having it run, some will if you mod the shortcut, some won't. Your best bet is to save your save games, install the game on the 2nd HDD, then copy your save games. That way if your save games don't work on the new instillation (which admitted is rare) then you can still use them on the c: drive instillation of the game.

I personally never run stuff directly off my secondary drive. If I want to play something that's on my secondary drive, I'll drag it over to the primary (and probably drag something I don't regularly use at the time off of the primary to the secondary to compensate).

Ofcourse you can, that's what I'm doing myself, I got a ssecond harddrive for programs (inc. games) and always run them from there. My C-disk is only for operating systems.

I've never noticed any longer loading times. You would think it would be shorter, being that (by default) the swap file is on C. Allows both drives to read/write at the same time. I feel it improves performance, not degrades it. I could be wrong though...

I never noticed any delays or increases in performances for all applications launched from a second disc.
