-dr doesn't work in VoidSW

I'm using the command line arg string
voidsw.exe -drL1 -level1 -s4 -nosetup
, but no demo file is generated, no matter if I quit the game, die, or complete the level. VoidSW build is r10652-39967d866

These options had been disabled from taking effect, but I have reenabled them. I'm curious to know how they work for you. There are five of them:

  • -dp[filename] - demo playback
  • -dr[filename] - demo recording
  • -ddr[filename] - "debug" demo recording
  • -de[filename] - demo edit mode
  • -dt[filename] - set demo temp name (possibly broken and/or vestigial)

Also relevant:

  • -demosyncrecord - save traces that can be used to verify demo-accuracy and synchronization
  • -demosynctest - validate traces

-dr works well on my end. No desyncs, even on an experimental map like this. Only weird thing I noticed is that movement feels choppy during demo recording.

The choppiness is because demo recording activates Pedantic Mode which adheres strictly to SW 1.2 behaviors, and low-fidelity input is part of that.

So we tried -dr in wangbang and it worked... I guess? When trying to playback the demo with -dp -level1 the game seemingly has no idea that this is wangbang and just plays it in single player, same in vanilla. First demo in the archive is my pov, second is of my opponent.
