Trying to run DF 2001 Leak on Win 7 x64, on GTX 1650

- Created C:\Duke
- Copied October files
- Running System\Duke Forever.exe
- Gfx card is detected, settings set to high
- Game fails even at creating user, does not accept it

When I copy august files, same, cant get past creating user

When I copy megapatch files, I get nice game GUI and can create profile, but when I select level and
click on its pic I get debugging crash log that oje can send to devs :) with all my sys info


Does on need to run *.bat files to build it (like megabuild.bat and resetconfig.bat)


Hope someone will make some easier to set and run build + patches included all in one :)


Updare: Works on Windows 11 on same hardware.

High likes

- Duke in UnReal Engine
- Interesting interactivity with objects and mini games
- Driving motor bike, Area 51, some of crazy ideas :)
- Deja Vu level
- Way more Duke then official DF 2011

And thanks for evey effort to make the game more enjoyable in this "half life" state.

On sidenote, there is a level where pic are two girls kissing, but that level alone, wont load. Is this "normal"? :)

I edited the file Players/Duke/DukeForever.ini, to use the Glide render, so first go to the [Engine.Engine] part, there should be this:

Hi. Thanks for this. I tried it but unfortunately I still have graphical bugs. Its running in the right resolution and in fullscreen though so Im not sure how to fix it. Can someone help please.

Cannibal is a model editor I believe but I haven’t been able to run it

Has anyone got this to compile yet? Also do we know what the cpj model format is yet?

I saw alot of people run into issues getting this to run, but after running the editor everything else seemed to work for me aftering copying the mega patch.

Definetely down to see what's there, a co-worker of just showed me the leak yesterday and I'm seeing what they have in there. So if anyone gets a blackscreen on startup I had to start with -NOSOUND cause their galaxy audio library crashes with a garbage callstack.

Probably the first thing I'd want to tackle is re-writing the audio system(if no one is doing that already) so I can have audio.

I've only seen the liztroop working, does anyone know if there is other monsters in the game?

EDF soldiers and their head spiders, Pig Cops, Octabrains, zombies, ground tentacles, maybe some minor stuff I'm forgetting. There is a boss enemy in one of the Vegas maps but the model is like 10% complete and you can't kill it.

They most definitely do, it just doesn't happen very often. They also have "telekinetic" attacks where they can throw you around, which can be toggled per-Octabrain.

Recently the original DNF from 2001 leaked, now i see that Critical Mass is out too.... (even though critical mass was apparently leaked before dnf)

The top priority is, of course, Endangered Species Hunter, and I'm sure all us Dukers in the community have now switched our sights to aggressively pursue this new target.

I can see the confusion there though. In some regions i've seen Critical Mass referred to as "Duke Nukem DS."

I've seen a few screens from ES. I know a couple people are holding onto it. It would be really cool to see more of it and compare it with Vivisector.

Actually, I didn't know there was another Duke Nukem DS game besides Critical Mass. My mistake.

EDIT: Looking it up, now I have vague memories of it. Don't know how I forgot about that.

Am I the only one that when I ran the game, Duke looked like a cop and had a paper in his hand that I could not get rid of. In other words Duke looked like the cops he fights on top of the building. Can someone link to the most recent update. This game looks half way fun.

If you're seeing a cop in the mirror and distorted polygons in front of you, you have not applied the proper patches to get the build working properly. When working right it should be a Duke model with no sunglasses and no pupils in his eyes. Read through the thread this has been addressed many times.

Sorry to be tardy to the party gentlemen, but has any one of you einstein-types made the level editor work yet? I dont know jack from jill but if I could figure a way to cook up a level of my own and load it into the game i'd be more than willing to try and learn the old magic.
