Hand grenades, when thrown, do not explode on their own after a few seconds, as they did in the original NAM game. Instead, the fire key has to be pressed again to make them go boom remotely, like the pipebombs in Duke 3D.

Add this line to one of the CON files:
gamevar PIPEBOMB_CONTROL 2 0

Works fine for me in r9310.
Please make sure that the GAME.CON and NAM.GRP you are using match the date and/or MD5/SHA sums listed here:

You might be loading the data the wrong way. "-gNAM.GRP" is not the correct way to play NAM. Select the GRP in the startup window.

Alright, a clean install of both Nam and EDuke32 corrected the problem, thanks.
