SmoothDuke (weapons)

Hey,

there has been a topic recently about if there's any smooth weapons mod for Duke. Apparently there is not. Since I do like SmoothDoom and I have some experience in sprite editing, I decided to give it a shot. Below you can what I have done so far. The problem is, I have no CON script experience and I still would like to stay away from it, so here's my question, is there anyone here willing cooperate in creating such mod? I'd really appreciate that.

My goal is to somehow update every weapon with addtional frames and later, I plan to update projectiles as well (perhaps other effects too).

No one is interested in doing such mod?

Anyways, here's another (posted in the art stockpile too):

cut ...

It's not an absolute. "No one" is a strong term.
Yes, I do not need it. But you gave me the basics on how to animate my own weapons.

I don't think you can add the intermediate frame to the Freezer without adding a fire delay

I think the idea of a "SmoothDuke" mod has a lot of potential.

I do know that, however it depends if someone wants to have 1:1 in terms of animation length or be a bit more open and break that rule, so transition between idle and fire for Freezer could be added.

This gives me Metal Slug vibes, with smooth firing and explosion animations.

I really hope somebody steps up to help you with this as smooth doom is a permanent mod in my doom load order and a duke version would be also.

This one was tricky, but it's done!

Smooth pipe bomb! One frame is taken from Lame Duke (with some extra modifications) and two extra hand sprites are mine (literally).

Really impressive. We might get that smooth mod together after all.

You have become Duke, also all this is very nice, I hope this all comes together.

Implemented the smoothed Mighty Foot animation in StrikerDM, minus the "cocked back" boot frame to keep the flow of the original animation.

Also, for shits and giggles:

after seeing that gif i'm now imagining a leg mod where you would look down and see your legs.

Alright, Shrinker/Expander is done as well

Here's a mockup animation (spritesheets are in the stockpile thread)

I think I could do WT's Flamethrower too. But first I think I'll jump to Duke Caribbean weapon sprites.

Funny how developers of that addon minimalized animations as much as possible.

You are spitting out smoothed weapons like Borion is doing with voxels. Where have you been hiding all these years, man?

Thanks. I've been always around but I've been modding mainly Blood (creating animations, spriting and stuff). I just never thought to do anything for Duke untill now.

I used again my own hand to create two extra frames for this one. This can be used with Trip Mine obviously.

Sorry for the double post...

@December Man
Aren't you the person who made Cosmetic Duke mod? Are you maybe interested in putting my work into SmoothDuke mod?
