It differs alot from the original but Im gonna twist it up a bit for the fun of it. Its just a screencap from zbrush so some parts look a little funky


That looks pretty nice, I'd just make the chest and arms a lot bigger, otherwise it looks more like an alien lizard then the weird snarly cat faced original ones.

Thanks for the feedback! My initial idea was to make the design a combo of lizard/alien/robot, so I think Im gonna keep the proportions the way they are. Making twists on the original design keeps the process in a creative "sphere" that I enjoy working in.
Matter of fact judging from what Im currently doing to the enforcers and octabrains design, I would say this one relates closest to the original heh

As Scott_AW said, I'd maybe beef him up a tad, also, I'd investigate making the outfit a bit more 'designer'. His uniform and armour look very plain at the minute. Maybe some vents or greebles on the armour or something? Just a thought. Here is an example of some funky body armour. Its plastic, but it would give you some ideas on how to funk it up a bit.

Interested to see the work on the other critters.

Im still not sold on the muscular look for this guy. This descision might make more sense once I post some of the other baddies, I dont want the whole set to consist of brawns. Furthermore the assault trooper, to me, is the feeble foot trooper compared to the other baddies. Right now Im pretty stubborn about the skinny appearance but I will give it some more thought. The armor idea is great I will definately add that to the to-do-list. I will post a screencap of the pig cop and maybe a high poly sculp of the enforcer later today, but right now Im at work.Thank you for the input.

You make a good point about the feeble trooper vs the other enemies, so you should probably keep what you got, although will the green suit palette swap for the captains or will you have alternate skins?

I like how the pigcop and lizardman look though. Pigcop looks super ugly in a good way.

Glad you like it! Right now the difference is only in the color of the suit. Might make some other changes but currently I dont see what they could be.
Frog, turtle sure something like that. Probably has a shady browser history either way =P

drrobot: Your texturing and the basic form is looking good, but in the sculpting stage, I would take some more time and try to impart some more basic anatomy to the characters. This is especially evident on the pig-cop arms. If you check out some anatomy pics (google) and spend an extra hour or so in ZB, it will look miles better.

Fox: Looking more and more interesting. I'm looking forward to playing this.

I just got huge inspiration for my warehouse.. Due to that, now it looks like this:

Now it needs some lights, details etc..I'm pretty happy with crates. What do you guys think? Should I change something?

Nah, looks fine. Just work a bit on the shading (it's too bright at the moment) and it'll look good.

With TROR you could also spice up that ceiling but I won't blame you if you'd rather not.

Thanks but I don't feel right with that TROR-stuff. I want to keep it as "normal" dukemap as much as I can.

About shading.. Most mods / maps I've played, have been *way* too dark ones. Can't really see anything and it's not fun anymore. I think it's much nicer to see something, I'm not looking for any *dark feeling* for my maps.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that mappers tend to go overboard with the shading sometimes.

So I decided to make a christmas present for my gf, and since I'm fairly good at mapster these days I thought it'd be best to make something with that. I've started making a little mansion map in which I'll place rooms with photos of me and her, and you'll be able to walk around and look at the photos. This area is the hub.

It feels like so long since I've worked on something vanilla Duke let alone HRP+Polymer. My trimming skills with this manor theme is basically non-existent so far.
