This was Bernie's nomination to lose. If he walked back the socialism only 10%, the media would have defended him to the max. But he spent the last 2 weeks doubling down on Castro and Cuba, which resulted in Biden blowing him out on Super Tuesday. Darn, I really wanted the communist to wreck his own party.

so we get Biden. A corporate dem. The same thing trump was before the 2016 election.
just an older, sleepier, creepier version.

voter registration
in the 90's he was mostly republican
in the 00's he was mostly democrat
he went back to republican in 2012

also donation records 1989-2012 which show roughly a 60-40 split favoring the dem party

the break with the dems allegedly had more to do with Obama mocking trump's hair, taste in architecture, & 'garish lifestyle' - which made trump retaliate as a birther - than anything actually 'political'
that, and all the epa regs obama admin pushed which hurt some of his businesses & partners

But there's no real equivalency, because Biden brings with him all of the Democatic Party rank and file to fill government positions, just as Trump brought with him Republicans.

Trump actually switched to Republican in 2009.

The fact that he started out as a Republican and eventually switched back was the indicator to me. I always figured he was temporarily a Democrat just to help his NBC show be successful.

Uh, he will. Biden is already commie lite. He's had no message his whole political life. He only exists to follow the whim of his electorate. This year, a vote against Trump is a vote for the radical left.

Trump was only political for business reasons until the Obama administration. He really hates Obama.

One of my friends made hundreds of dollars by buying bottles of hand sanitizer in bulk and selling them individually for waaay more. Hahaha who else is tired of the coronavirus fear mongering?

Well, the joke is over this Corona Virus hoax, for me, anyway. Based on the latest indexes, the scare tactics, world wide, forces a major recession, just when all lights were green.
Fuck the global rich fucks, and the god damn idiots getting scared when the global rich fucks tell them to get scared; with the exception of totalitarian states like China and Italy, the peeps there are forced to submit to the propaganda. Fuck the rest, this includes Trump. Can't get anyone in from Europe? What the fuck?

What I'm hearing is Hank is mad he didn't properly read the tea leaves in January or early February when the global rich fucks were blaring every horn possible telling the planet what was coming to this overbought, overheated, overcomplacent, manipulated market.

The markets were always manipulated by the rich fucks, that's why the poor fucks shall not play in those markets.
But I can't believe, they are falling for it.
If you have foreseen that - congrats. I never thought a subway in a major city would be empty, save the usual street bums.

Hank, I feel bad because I'm on the receiving end of this crap. Its been close to 5 months since I contacted a lawyer to help me with my dad's estate and trust. There are so many hoops to jump thru and these companies with dad's 401k and stock holdings move at the speed of molasass in January. So while the stocks are in limbo I have lost $125,000 in the last month. Mostly in the last 2 weeks. My plan was to have received those months ago and liquidated. Instead I have to sit and watch an almost 40% drop. The stock is back to 2008 recession levels. All those gains gone in a flash.

Nature likes a balance. I think this is payback for when I actually made a little money during the 2008 recession while others lost 10-60% of their retirement savings.

@ Mark.
I’m sorry to hear this my friend. Hopefully your advisers can solve that paper war.
Also, there is no such thing as pay back time. You did obviously the right thing in 2008.
The current oil slump would have sufficed, for 2020, to wreck havoc.

This fear mongering goes deeper. It seems to change the elementary rights of freedoms here, forced by the western governments. Similar on what they did after the World Trade Center was attacked. Today, you can’t even rob somebody, without being on one of those many surveillance cameras. Can’t wait how totalitarian it will become in a year from now. Maybe, we all will be forced to have a chip set into each of us, to signal, healthy or sick? Or something.

The panic is real, and whether you think it was manufactured or not, the panic poses a huge problem that everyone now has to deal with. It's very dangerous to have our medical infrastructure overwhelmed with patients. A lot of the generic drugs we use in the U.S. come from China and are already in short supply. With emergency rooms getting overwhelmed, people with serious treatable illness and injuries (i.e. broken legs) are going to have a tough time getting treatment. Closing schools with no plan for the kids seems like a horrible idea -- nurses and doctors will now have their kids at home and might miss work because of that when they are needed the most, while kids are at the least risk of suffering from the virus.

We don't really know what the mortality rate is, because estimates are based on people who are actually tested, which are generally going to be amongst the worst cases. People who get it and aren't symptomatic, or who just suffer mild to moderate cold/flu symptoms will probably never be tested. From this we can infer that the mortality rate is probably pretty low, but the same could be said of the seasonal influenza as well.

Cancellling gatherings of people and generally trying to keep people from physical contact with each other seems to be the preferred "solution" now. While that can potentially slow the spread of the virus, and thereby relieve pressure on medical resources, the economic impact of it will be devastating.

Sorry Dan but the panic is completely fabricated, and the global hysteria is much more harmful than the actual virus. As of writing there are 140,000 cases confirmed worldwide and 5,000 deaths. This implies the mortality rate is around 4%.... except that, we don't know how many people are immune carriers of the virus. 140,000 cases is way too low for a virus that's already had global outreach - the actual number has to be at least 10 times that, which brings the mortality rate down to sub <1%. Seriously, it's just the flu. The flu has always been kind of scary. The 2019-2020 flu season killed 5,000 - 10,000 Americans each month before coronavirus was even on the map.

But whatever, the world is already panicking at spinal tap 11. I guess I just have to go with the flow. I hope I get some time off work, or at least the option to work remotely from home for 1 - 2 weeks. ;)

I misread the context of your post then. When you said "the panic is real" and "it's very dangerous to have our medical infrastructure overwhelmed with patients", I assumed you were commenting on the overall threat of the virus, but now I see you are also reflecting on how ludicrous all this panic is.

Shame. Where I live the economy was showing some improvement after being in the toilet for 4-5 years due to dependence on oil and lack of pipelines to export overseas. Now it's going down again.

Why? They have been screaming from the rooftops that a massive shaking of the economic tree was incoming. Globalism has been a flagrant "just one jenga piece" seizure waiting to happen for a decade. Empty subways should have been something you've been expecting to happen anytime now... just no idea when or how.

It was easy to tell in January that Corona wasn't just a flu, even IFFFFFF it was just the flu, the medical infrastructure is not setup to safely handle TWO FLUS at the same time.

Wuhan and Italy show you what happens if you have even a couple weeks of asymptomatic negligence. Did any of you know that China has a 1.2 million spike in "infectious disease incidents" that are unaccounted for over their many decades long norms in December? You don't think they had 1.2 million new flus do you? You want to try to downplay the lethal difference by pointing out how many unverified infections exist... but ignore how many deaths have gone by without being tested and chalked up to something else (or were suspected and just not bothered to test because... why spend the money/create the panic/disappoint the government, etc). The China numbers are a lie. The Italian numbers can't keep up with reality. The US numbers are limited by limited testing. And nobody knows what wave 2... or heaven forbid... perpetual seasonal revival looks like.

I can sympathize deeply with Mark being in a position of trying to get out months ago and being stuck in red tape. But that's entirely different from looking around mid march and going "WHY ARE THE SUBWAYS EMPTY?"

The writing was on the wall about the fragility just waiting for a catalyst, even a minor one... what in the ever living hell do you think we've been talking about here for so long?

Also, Spanish Flu was blown off the first year as just an unusually strong flu but no big deal. Then people started dying the same day they showed symptoms the next year.

And yes, I pulled my company retirement out of stocks in early February, even though I've been technically bearish for 5 years... but didn't pull the market trigger until then. So I'm not just blowing smoke up your ass about there being overwhelming signals on every possible front.

1) an actually broken market
2) an actual viral outbreak on a new level
3) no crisis will go to waste (the taking of new NWO tier powers given 1 and 2)

No shit Sherlock... you're only pissed off if you were surprised by either 1 or 2.

New Crown Virus. I used google translate, latin - english. jk I know how to read.

Iron supplements will fight the ace2 inhibition, reduce cough.
Vitamin C won't hurt.
A sauna if fever is mild can knock it back.
Oh and masks work, anything to keep water vapor away from your mouth / nose.

But in the end it doesn't really matter. It's not about the virus, it's about the global economic and political ramifications. It's about who gets to wear the new crown.
