Liquidator is an obscure Russian game illegally made using Build Engine and
published in 1998 by Akella Company, who will later make an infamous Postal 3.
The game includes all-new graphics, sounds, and 3 campaigns with total of 6 maps.

This pack provides modified files and CONs to make it possible to run the
game using EDuke32 and BuildGDX. The game is also translated to English
(menus and pickup messages only, in-game textures are still in Russian for authenticity)
and includes widescreen-compatible HUD sprites.

Holy hell, looks like Duke3D did it with Doom and some pre-alpha version of Blood. As a fan of the long-lost Mars 3D, I got to ruin another of my evenings with this one.

I don't expect anyone to actually play and finish this abomination, but it's still interesting as a part of Build Engine history.

Lmao I just know there's at least one poor Russian kid out there who played this nearly every day. :(

Maybe even two Russian kids. I own the CD and beat the game.
Each level takes up to 50 minutes to complete and there's quite a lot of bullshit in this game. Have fun.

I was that same kid except I grew up in amurica. I grew up on Windows 9X computers and CDs filled with dozens of shareware games. My balkan parents wouldn't buy me a console or expensive AAA games in a million years. :( I find it funny knowing some kids played these crappy flea market titles, especially since that situation is 100x more common out east. :P

@Mister Sinister I knew about this game, even played a couple of levels a long time. Shovelware Duke3D maps was a staple of my childhood, I even played Operated Body Count, however...this game is way too shitty even for my tastes. Mere a curio.

@Radar Shareware? You LOSER, we in Russia played full versions right from the start. :(

Lmao cuz dollar stores over here never carry full versions. Y'all have those sweet European flea markets where you can pick up fringe stuff like this.

Oh, I dunno, I find this game kinda fun actually.
People who made this are full of shit, but they were not completely incompetent with build engine.

I just hope a gypsy didn't swindle you for more than 50 rubles on this game.

No gypsies were involved in the purchase

Interesting atmosphere and good sound work. :P
But I do not understand why the weapons disappear from the screen if I come out of the armory of the very first level ... Or it's just me who has the problem? :(

If you want, you can remove the green light emitted by the Shrinker weapon's slot by adding this in GAME.CON:

gamevar WEAPON6_FLAGS 16384
setvar WEAPON6_FLAGS 16384

Don't know, but that's how it is in the original game too. You have to use mighty foot (or mighty knuckle in this case) to break the glass.

Can I replace it with a different color?

The function is the value 2 here: https://wiki.eduke32...i/WEAPONx_FLAGS (natively active for Shrinker)

I think you can change the color if you combine with: WEAPONx_FLASHCOLOR

Example, for a blue light :
gamevar WEAPON6_FLASHCOLOR 16744576
setvar WEAPON6_FLASHCOLOR 16744576

Wow, this thing actually did use the Build engine? I just thought it was a decent copy. I guess Rock'n Shaolin can't even get the title of best bootleg Build game now.

I recall liking this one from what little I've played of it, but I was greatly hampered by the language barrier. It wasn't the greatest thing ever or anything, but it was fun. Maybe it'll be more fun now that I can understand what the buttons do and what the story is.

Of course, it was built upon a hacked copy of Duke Nukem 3D.

Well, Rock'n Shaolin(*) was used outdated Build engine and this game using newer one(as Phredreeke said, based on hacked Duke3D) so totally incomparable. And still, this one looks more far better, but I just feel weird by looking those screenshots...

(*):Or should called Lot7P even through it's only game released and the next planned game(found advertisements inside of Lot7P game) never happened after Lot7P's failure and then and Accend Inc. was gone...and the story behind that was even more dramatic, but too bad my English isn't good enough to explains about all of them...all I can said is...the guy who owned Accend Inc. was liar and his company just a "shell company" for "steal money" from investors, and it was not the first time and not final time...... :(

Huh, I wonder why that information isn't spread out more. You'd think sites dedicated to the Build Engine would mention it at least. Very, very, curious. Is it just not notable because it was released after Duke?

I wouldn't be surprised if the guy who owned Accend did that stunt more than once. That's a common tactic among scummy businessmen in countries with weak copyright. That said, I hope your English becomes good enough one day to explain the story well. Its always nice to hear the history of an obscure company, even if they're no Cyberdreams.

I really wish I could understand what was going on in this game as it seems like something interesting is going on. I found a golden chest that I could use which lowered my weapon and made a sound, but the chest did nothing. I shot the chest and it revealed a blue diamond which I could use to fully restore my health and armor. I then shot the diamond which did nothing. However, when using the diamond again after shooting it, it turns red and starts to floating towards you, shaking violently while playing an ominous tone. Shooting it at this point does nothing as it continues to approach, and after a few seconds of which, it explodes and then restarts the level. You don't die. The whole game just forcibly resets the map as if you did. Truly a memorable happening.

And there's an astonishing amount of pornography in the ART tiles. These are either almost all unused or very well hidden, as I was only able to find one of the porn pics in-game.

There are several problems with this port that require some CON editing to fix. I tried and failed to fix them, so if you want to help me with these - feel free.

On a slightly unrelated note, we also need a EDuke32 compatible version of Save EBN (it's for 1.3D) unless someone updated the CON files already?

I made it working a while ago. May post it later.

I guess mostly only few people were contacted(game publisher/devs in Taiwan) with Accend Inc. back then knows about these, so it's normal nobody outside of Taiwan knows about that, hell...even most of us knows this many, many years later.

BTW, the other Accend Inc. found at 2012 has no relations to this 1993 one, don't confusing about that if you try to google-ing. :(

Well, I guess I'll try my best...sorry if my shitty English grammar caused some troubles...but I post that on "The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge" thread, since it's off-topic and that thread would fits more I guess. :P

Again, sorry about off-topic.

Oh, no, I was talking about Liquidator there. LotSP I think is generally well known in the retro FPS scene. I was saying that the knowledge of Liquidator being in the Build engine is very obscure.

Okay...sorry for misunderstood your post.

I never heard about this game, just like MARS 3D(I know it's not Build engine but just as example), nobody heard that until actually see the game itself. :(

For the key issue, could it be the image files for the keys are getting confused? When I first got a key I noticed it was a big size in my inventory, obscuring the ammo count.

Gameplay wise, I've noticed something now that I didn't before. Some, if not all of the weapons are stolen versions of other weapons. I identified the Uzi as the Uzi from Shadow Warrior, and because of the similar smoothness of the weapon could also figure out that the revolver is probably stolen too, but where I don't know from where.

It has to do with the fact that the keys are placed on the maps not directly, but via respawns, and looks like they are spawned with the wrong size.
I don't know what the devs did to sizeat command, but I had to increase sizeat values for pickups by 10 to get the same size in eduke.

I put together a pack that loads a larger key when run in DukeGDX, just place it in the autoload directory
