Well, he is indeed right in what he says, sad but true. At least we can hope 3DR will learn a lesson from all this.

Funny, but inaccurate... he says they were paid for a job they didn't deliver, which is horseshit, so many people still miss the point that it was 3DR's money that was spent. The only external funds were 400,000 from GT, and 2.5 million from Take-Two which was spent on DNF but was money owned by 3DR as the result of a contract they signed for another game. In other words, TT gave nothing for DNF, GT gave 400,000, and 3DR gave 20 million (excluding the 2.5 million from Take-Two which came in for a different title).

Lets face it, 3DR funded this game, they didn't get paid for a job they didn't finish, that is utter bullshit.

Raziel, I thought the same thing.
But still people are going to think this game is being developed over a gazilion years, so it must be the best game ever.
But actually they only did it in 3 years, like 4 times now, then restarted.

Yes, I know that, but it is still their money... If I make a sandwich and it turns out shit, it is my right to chuck it in the bin and make a new one. It's my money, so who has the right to tell me not to do it?

The guy who signed a contract with you that tells him he would sell the sandwich when (NOT IF) it was done..

I love how people insist that the contract didn't involve money.

How do we know? Right now, we know NOTHING about the contract.

Odds are, this case is going to go to arbitration and be settled quietly out of court, and we'll never ever know what was on the contract.

On the off chance that we DO ever find out what's on the contract, then people can comment.

But this whole bs about how Take Two is evil and never gave money to 3DR.. we don't know that.

We DO know that George has said they never asked for money and never would and were self funded all the way.... and then said they were in the process of asking for money.

I wouldn't trust either side in this. But I also wouldn't take a side.

People insist this because 3DR employees kept making statements that the game was self-funded. As for the "asking for money" thing - seems like that happened when the money was running short, they failed to get more, then they went out of business.

Of course it's possible that Take2 did pay some money but then why would they (3DR people) claim otherwise?

Vested interest, perhaps?

They might not have known?

I mean, isn't it fairly obvious by now that people weren't aware of how much peril the company was in? And that some weren't even aware of the talks between Take2 and 3DR for compensation?

It is a private company. They don't have to tell you ANYTHING. And they don't have to tell their employees anything, either.

There's a reason a whole bunch of people left in 2006. Remember that.

I think I got more enjoyment out of that review than I would have gotten from the game.

Laughed my head off.
And 3dRealms deserved every bit of ridicule they got.

Not a Yahtzee fan. Hearing someone repeat a few things I already know + the usual falsifications. Meh, I didn't lol which makes it a fail in my book.

The guy is usually a scream. I loved the GT4 'review'.
I did like it, but it wasn't up to his usual standard. Maybe because there wasn't anything to actually review...

I think that's kind of the sad thing to come out of this.

I still hear people talk about how great DNF would have been.. but no one really knows for sure. It never got out the door far enough.

Sure, Jace might have had a preview of it, but the term "dog and pony show" isn't popular in software because it lets people see exactly what you have.

not quite, see if one makes valid points towards a game I will actually discuss it, regardless of my personal preference.

However, I do expect someone who does reviews to do some homework, otherwise - DON'T BOTHER.

Just watch his "Prince of India" review, oh pardon it is PERSIA, but it seems that did not reach him. The only thing he can is talk fast - ugh - might aswell speak the language instead of chew on it and spit it out.

See I liked PoP, however I'm not saying it was flawless - just like most games out there. If the claims can be followed I do enjoy criticism but if it's done in such a amateurish and sluggish way I can't find anything positive on that.

just my couple cents.

PS: If you like him, fine so be it. But don't get all upset when someone eventually comes along and says he's a douche. They sow the wind will reap the whirlwind - thats life.
