Hi,

I got a strange problem. I've been fighting with this for hours, without any results.
So, I got, without too many words, you can see The Problem in this screenshot:

You can see the dark parts, those are the sprites. I cant figure out why those are darker than normal floor.
Same shading values, etc.

You can download map from here: http://kk4.fi:81/u/1...12740_pmw05.map.

Thank you.

Shade comes from the sky in parallax sectors.

What you mean?

I tried to put same shade (+8) to sky, but it didn't work. Just got lighter it, but now sprites are lighter than floor..!

In that case, floor and the parallaxed sky should have the same shade.

Tried that. I got now +8 shade value in floor, parallaxed sky and walls. Doesn't work.. :)

Edit:
Heh not +8, I mean -8.

Well, you have set floor shade to -8 and sky shade +8. I've set sky shade to -8 too and everything looks fine now.
To set global sky shade, press ' f in 2D mode and select 'Set map sky shade'.

BTW, this map looks great and the cars look awesum!

OK! I didnt know this 'F -thing, thanks for that!

And thanks for good comments about map. I've spent a lot of time to do this map.. So thanks very much!

EDIT:

I edited _all_ shades to -8, walls, sky, floor, sprites etc.
Now, it is too light (!). It's very funny, because if I am very near of sprites, shades are OK.
But when I go far away, sprites are too light.

And I got next settings in Eduke:

- Ambient light 1.00
- Gamma 1.00
- Contrast 1.00
- Brightness 0.00

And I'm using 8bit classic -videomode. So everything is so default as can be.

Strange problem.

Don't forget to press ' x to see sprite shade preview.

It looks fine in 32bit mode, but I have same problem in 8bit mode.
So I've set visibility in this sector with the sprites to 4 and rest to 0. You can adjust visibility of a sector in small steps by pressing alt+shift +/- in 3d mode.

But now the wall is too dark, so you will have to make a new sector there.
