320x200 PCX Good Looking Pixelization  "problems fitting the sprite all into the pcx file"

I'm creating sprites for the mortuary at Morningside cemetary for offices and what have you.
I'm trying to create a Phantasm Mod for Duke 3D.

I found out that creating a pcx file at 320x200 works best then, resizing the sprite in Build, if not then I was told to try using a bmp file.

Only problem is that the sprite I was working with is 229x330 so of course as you can imagine,I couldn't
get the base of the lamp,'a lamp sprite' in there.

I updated by hitting (U) and I could see already by the army ants that the whole thing wasn't going to
fit in so,I just fit in there what I could,I even hit the key your supposed to above the Tab key
and I still couldn't fit the whole thing in there, could somebody help me with the key commands to
resolve this delema, because I'd really hate to have to resize anything and lose any good looking pixelization.

Thanks

I dont recommend using .BMPs or .PCX. .BMPs have big file sizes, and are hard to get correct. .PCXs only import correctly when theyre done exactly the same way Editart makes them.

I recommend using 256 Color Pre-Color Converted .GIFs saved at 100% quality.

I only have two questions,

1.Could you elaborate on what exactly are 256 Pre-Color Converted gifs and how is this accomplished?

2.You said,PCXs only import correctly when theyre done exactly the same way Editart makes them,
but my question basically is,how else can you import any file into editart without having to do the
(U)key command?

Al the keys you can use in Editart.

You use a program like photoshop to convert the colors to Duke's palette (which is 256 colors). This isn't NECESSARY, but most programs will convert colors better than Editart can natively. It must however have at least have 256 colors, even if it's not Duke's palette. Saving it as an indexed .gif should take it down to 256 colors.
