Mouse deceleration

Hi! I've been trying to play this game with the eduke32 renderer but just like in the original version there is some mouse deceleration. I wonder if there is anyway to fix this? I'm very picky when it comes to things like this and I don't find it as enjoyable as it would be if the mouse aiming was completely linear.

Check Options>Mouse Setup. You can enable/disable mouse smoothing, as well as mess with the sensitivity and acceleration in the advanced options.

You might have wanted to have a look at the options before making a thread about it. But at least you made it in the right place (you'd be surprised how many new people post threads in the wrong sections) so good an ya :D

I'm not talking about mouse smoothing, I am talking about mouse deceleration. No matter if I have the setting "mouse smoothing" on or off I have mouse deceleration.

What do you mean deceleration then? I pointed out that you can adjust the sensitivity and the scaling as well. If neither of those help you I don't know what you mean.

Deceleration - the opposite of acceleration.

Mouse acceleration is more often a problem in games, and when it's active, the faster you move your mouse, the more the cross hair moves per inch you move your mouse. It's like activating "Enhance pointer precision" in the control panel in windows.

Deceleration is the complete opposite. If you move your mouse fast, if you twitch it, the crosshair moves less that it would have if you have moved the mouse the exact same distance but slower. The faster you move your mouse, the less the crosshair moves per inch you move your mouse.

The optimal way would be to have completely linear mouse movement, which most fast shooters have, hl2, quake 3, gzdoom etc. With mouse deceleration it becomes much harder to twitch aim. Some other games have had this problem as well, just cause 2 has it and bad company 2 had it in the beta before release as well.

Now that you mention it, I am noticing it too. It took me a couple of experiments before I could measure it, though. The first time I tried, it didn't seem to be happening.

I don't see why this would be a problem, except in deathmatch. The monsters are slow and you don't need to turn very fast anyway.

Set mouse sensitivity to the max and set x and y axis scale to 1 in the advanced options and turn off the dead zone. I've never notice a difference with these settings from any other FPS, at least using my MX518.

That doesn't work for me. I've tried with both a intellimouse 3.0 and a razer deathadder (old generation). So basically there is no way to fix this? It should really be high up on the to-do list, have a toggle between linear and acceleration/deceleration.
